Sadly, they stopped using coal gas in ovens some time ago, and the natural gas currently used isn't toxic enough. If anything, it sounds like ICU got this way FROM huffing some kind of fume.

I recommend self-defenestration. The most effective way to kill a person is by letting them fall onto a hard surface from a height of at least 70 feet.

The microwave won't work, either! The technology requires a sealed box for the microwaves to bounce around inside of; open the door and the microwave just won't function, jammed or not.

Also, refrigerators aren't air-tight anymore. Damn those safety-minded inventors!

It will work. You just need a big enough microwave to fit the entire body in.
