At first glance it really sounds like NWN...  As it's hinted that tools to build adventures will come with it :

Maybe I'm biased, but I parse that has the game having a toolset of some kind.

Now are they going as retarded as Obsidian and not provide the tools to build PW easilly ( DB connectivity, standalone server : Linux  ) ?
Or will they have a working brain cell ?

Very cool, I remember playing Unreal Tournament back in the day when I was back in college, very fun times!

(I do wish mmorpg.com had it setup so I could read the story on a single page, and no I don't have an account with them).

It sounds like it won't need most of those things. From perusing the site it looks to be more of a multi-player game rather than an MMO.

Think of it more like a digital version of PnP: you lay down a map on a table(set up a server) your friends sit down(log on), and the five of you do a dungeon(possibly involving one or more dragons).

No need for persistent worlds or a database, its more like an FPS game, except its a good old-school RPG with some DMing tools.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

This is interesting, I do see some groups forming from the current DDO community (and NWN), looking for a more D&D game. would be kinda cool to get old PnP players for the good old days together again, now that I live a world away from my old mates.
