Anyone know if you can use Handwraps/unarmed and still benefit from the effects the tempest and graceful death core enhancements? What about the other enhancements on the tree like improved parry or improved defense?

For the record though op.  Fuck you.  Your questions were already answered on the wiki, by me, before this thread was made.

I've edited the wiki yet again, hopefully things are more clear now.

So if I understand you correctly, there is not much reason for a monk who is using unarmed strikes to go down the tempest enhancement tree. As I understand it, even centered weapons do not count for unarmed strike requirement, except for handwraps. So enhancements like iron hand and argent fist do not apply even to centered weapons. Is there any plus to using the tempest enhancement tree?

This is just the kind of insightful even-handed responses that will make you a credit to the PC Munk.

Until you quit by next month because you're fed up.

Too bad that's impossible to get with handwraps.

There is a point if you want to give up handwraps for shortswords, or if you fight in animal forms and get the best of both worlds.

Right. Not from tempest. Shintao deft strikes +10 with meditation of war giving +10 in wind.

According to the wiki, you can still DoD unarmed.

And it is incredifuckingbrilliant. PDK 6Monk,6Ranger,6 Fighter atm with 3 Monk PLs

On large groups of mobs I have seen 4 (maybe even 5) procs of...

Healing Curse
Stunning Fist
Improved Sunder
Trip
Meteoric Strikes
Mabar Aug Neg Levels
Acid Damage from Crits with Earth Strike

Using Cleave/Great Cleave while DoD is on CD

Monk Tier 4/3 strikes, Haste Boost, Human (PDK) Damage Boost for single target.

Could work in 4 Cleric or FVS for UltimateMega Ameliorating Strikes from DoD.

Interesting.. wonder how a 8 monk/6 ranger/6 cleric would fair..

8 monk for the unarmed die increase to 2d6 from 1.5d6, 6 cleric (rather than your aforementioned 4), for core 4 Blur. (one less gear slot taken),

Leveling, id do 6 ranger, just to get improved 2wf free to start with, on top of manyshot to utilize a bow at lower levels.. It could fair well i thinks..

This build shines best if you can get a huge group of mobs together.  The more the merrier.

I realize for a lot of us heroic elite is lol.  However, in quests like Undermine where you can get a shit ton of mobs all at once it's melt down time and it's fucking brilliant.
