Maybe they're following the Lucasfilm model, turning out really crappy product from a really great franchise, then turning over the reigns to a talented new crew to "save" it.

All that's missing is the billions of dollars of revenue created anyway by that otherwise crappy product.

How about the Tomb of Horrors? And, to make it exactly as much of an asshollish murder-machine as possible, add a fair amount of randomization to what does what and where(EG half the time, walking through this door is perfectly safe, the other half it kills you and breaks every single item you have equipped).

That sounds terrible, but its exactly the way Gygax intended. As in he seriously used to rip up people's character sheets, gleefully, when they'd fail the tomb.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

Instead of the Door of Reversal, you have a door where anyone who steps through instantly becomes a pure fighter in Shiradi, with maxed DEX and WIS and all skill points in diplo and swim.  Cheesy

I think I'd finally accept the Hall of Heroes if they turned it into an actual Hall of Worlds. Emphasis on the Hall. Not a bunch of stupid huge rooms connected by stupidly-long-for-no-reason halls.

I couldn't agree more. They might have played the game. Judging by the loot and xp in the last update, I find it hard to believe this new crop does.

Yeah, the combinations are just silly.
I read the thread about the new assassin's blade and the fanbois are trying to defend it.
The guy wasn't asking for uber, just a sensible combination of abilities.

NoWorries I think was the loot designer?
They appear to have made some panicked changes to loot in the hotfix, but it doesn't get away from the fundamental flaws (previously discussed).

Fancy justifying going ahead, based on the weapon artwork already being done...

The heroic versions are going for setting a new twink standard for ML 7 gear. Problem is, it's about 5 years too late for that. The current "easy button" settings make it pointless for anyone to grind. If you're actually playing those levels, only your first life can benefit from twink gear. TRs don't need equipment at all until this shit gets outclassed by greensteel.

In addition, shit like this: Pulled the ML 7 named club. Great stats, including Vampirism. The fucking thing is Hardness 10. It breaks just from use.

I haven't even been bothered to look at the Heroic stuff yet.
No plans to play through those levels again anytime soon.

Yeah, why make something so ridiculously fragile.  It's magical and powerful, wouldn't someone have cast some preservation magic on it?  Maybe they want you to buy lots of those Repair Efreet stations to use throughout the quest.
Sadly, all there work just lacks finishing touches that would make it good.

I think the Hall of Heroes as a bridge between game settings was the ultimate stretch goal.

Probably conceived by whoever was the last Turbine staffer to have the brain that day (and took it with them in their severance package.)

tl;dr: I second this opinion.

Greensteel is less of an issue now, with the level cap and other factors shroud runs aren't nearly as common asthey were. I've been watching Argo, and I've seen 1 lfm in 2 weeks. I don't spend many hours on, but they are mostly prime time US. There used to always be a shroud run up during my play time, but not anymore.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

"Late 2015: “Alice in Wonderland” Inspired Storyline

Early 2016: “Shakespearean Inspired” Story of Giants

Late 2016: The Underdark"

hmmm.  we sort of already have versions of the G1 - G3 and D1-D3 modules in DDO with Gianthold and the Underdark.  I would not want another Giant centric arc so soon, but if my only other choice is Mad Hatter.  meh. Undecided

I would LOVE the hall of heroes if it wasn't so fucking huge. There's no point in using it when you can get anywhere just as fast WITHOUT using it. Giant and multi-leveled? Go fuck yourself. If they made it about the size of an airship DECK, with all the exact same features it presently has, I'd basically live there.

The next classic DDO module.... will be again determined by whatever WOTC is shoveling out atm... sounds like more Forgotten Realms.... Myth Drannor or Undermountain perhaps...

http://www.forbes.com/sites/davidewalt/2015/04/15/new-dungeons-dragons-fifth-edi...

No surprise no DDO mention... This still ain't the open world they are looking for...
