No probs bro.
Interesting article.
I didn't even know Lucas has sold out to Disney.
I need to get out more.

Explains the next movie - they have to recoup the $4bn.

Wonder if it will have animated toons in it....
Being Disney, it won't be dark, it'll be all light, fluffy and family friendly - probably Gungans meet Ewoks in a dessert baking contest.

Undecided

It was smart business for Disney. When Star Wars Land opens at Disney MGM Studios in Orlando in a year or 2 maybe they will be able to sell some tickets now to a dead for the last decade park. I don't think Avatar land in the zoo park is going to bring them as many people as a shitty Ewok or Jar-Jar ride could. Supposedly the new SW Disney rides will only focus on the three new movies now but I am betting an Ewok or two will make an appearance. Disney ownership is why all but the first fourth movie opening changed. Bye bye lion hello Disney logo. I guess Harry Potter took to many guests away and they can't even get Marvel characters into there own parks because of Universals prior deals before they scooped 'em up. It's probably only a matter of time before Disney buys up WB or Hasbro. Fucking following the mouses deals is as crazy as keeping up with D&D's ownership an licensing...

The next SEVEN movies.  Seriously, I think that's what's announced.  A new core trilogy and four stand-alones, each focusing on a different character.

I dunno.  Say what you want about the Tron sequel, but its look was really cool.  And remember, the Narnia and Pirates of the Carribean movies were Disney productions, too.  And they definitely toed the line of kid-friendly, if not stepping over in some cases.

They were too much kid stuff. And they've got 4 more books in that series. I think the script for the 4th (The Silver Chair) one is being written now.

Dark by today's "standards" in that some scenes reminded me of the kids' shows and movies I grew up with in the 80s.  The Aslan sacrifice scene?  That was well done.

check your Netflix.  Disney is cranking out the Star Wars cartoons like crazy.  they'll make the $4b back on that shit alone.  the idiots who haven't realized Star Wars & Empire were complete flukes will still go lap up the next film.  but most folks don't even remember when those movies came out.

want to feel ancient?  check out the Star Wars Tipping Point

Disney = Merchandising
Star Wars = Merchandising
Disney + Star Wars = MERCHANDISING

Return of the Jedi sure-as-shit didn't include teddy-bears because it made for a better story...

The movies since then are simply vehicles for selling craptastic toys, chachkis, t-shirts, etc.  If they happen to make money on their own in the meantime, that's just icing on the cake.

I hope I'm totally wrong about that of course, but I'm not betting on it.

I'm hoping for a Spaceballs sequel, Disney or otherwise.

Bro, I'm surprised they're still doing new content at all.

A half-dozen boss Vaulties donated generously with real money to my classroom during a fundraiser in May 2015 to get poor kids books to read. I won't forget that. They know who they are, and they freaking rule.

Once you meat your personal goal you might want to give that some consideration.
