That's the kind of shit that just boggles my mind. You see an ad somewhere (hah), say "oh, that might be fun," go to grab the game and the link doesn't work?! No new players for 3 weeks.
That and the constant store issues are the ones that make me think conspiracy theories instead of just stupidity. I do ecommerce stuff, and when the cart's down, it's all hands on deck until it's fixed. How could you let your single source of income be so fucked?
Quick answer. It conflicted with the latest PacMan LARP expansion.
They've had all hands working on the expansion to go 3D (cardboard walls) and top view camera.
So long as that is working who gives a crap about the stupid game that pays the bills?
Long answer:Turdbine devs are elite gaming programmers who exist in a reality above the mundane concerns of mortals ("fucking stupid players" to use their vernacular). When you operate at their levels of omniscience, you cannot afford to be distracted by trivialities in the pursuit of gaming nirvana. This is why they're so fracking good - just ask them.
Some of the daily distractions they face can often include inane considerations like domain name registrations, IP, server uptimes, game playability, e-store availability, bug reporting (a misnomer because they know there are no bugs in their work - just intended and unintended features), customer service, customer feedback, etc.
All of these perils are what the best of the best face each day when they enter the bastion of excellence that is Turdbine HQ.
Only a small few have what it takes to ignore all this and stay focused on the goal at hand - PacMan LARP.
These special few are known as the Turdbine S.E.A.L.S. unit.
