I think it'll be a disappointment without a unique feel due to half arsed mechanics.

Who the hell do you think you are to make a statement like that, a players council member or something? Smiley

Divines were pretty bitchin' pre-MotU.  Maybe some of the lack of Wisdom race was a sort of "balance" pass?

Divines were bitching about Spellwpowah... and the fact that it was a skill and INT based, thus forcing them to put build points in INT when it had been a dump stat for years.
that's why we have Healing and Perform ( respectively for Divines and Bards ) based on WIS and CHA...

Concentration should have been the skill to cover spellpower, since all spellcasters would have been on even footing.

Use what is already in the game. But as Flav points out all the time, someone had to put in their portfolio that they added a new skill in the game, so we got Spellcraft ported in from pnp.

I think it was a combination of CV padding and addressing the (arguably justified) gripes that Wizards were woefully under-powered compared to every other casting class.

So they killed two birds with one stone implementing Spellcraft.

Whether or not that was a "good" thing is open to debate  Huh

Anybody care to speculate on the chances of eldritch blast applying sneak attack dice?

Well lets be honest here, we are dealing with turbine, where you ask for this:

https://data.archive.moe/board/co/image/1340/16/1340168352126.gif

And they give you this:

http://38.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m8k0a8Q7NM1r1qtmho1_500.gif

So basically you have to ask yourself what is the worst thing I can think of? Then take a big steaming shit on it, freeze it, defrost it in the microwave, then stomp it. Whats left on the bottom of your shoe is what we will get.

So did Turbine have a hand in making this movie that sucked out all the charm and action from the godawful cartoon?

People point out sneak attack dice are shit. In an effort to not look like a fucking idiot, he changes all the rules to make himself right. Typical boss logic.

It's not really iconic if they just make crap up, is it?

Then again, there aren't really any other options for a wis race unless we introduce stuff like Githzerai of Svirfneblin. I would have been ok with doing Aasimar but calling it "Planetouched Elf" or whatever, but it's not like Amaunator is an Elf racial deity, so I'm not sure why they went elf in the first place other than that they were already decided on 2 human based iconics in PDK and SK.

Yaun-ti is already in the code for racials according to druid reincarnation, could have given us a yaun-ti pureblood stormcaller as either a cleric or druid and made the racial enhancement a mix of the classes.

And you'd have to play it with mob art. That would go over well.

Yuan-ti incarnate is one of a few possible random 20-minute buffs you get after being reincarnated by the druid spell.

Huh, that makes me think... if they ever did introduce kobold as a playable, could you do that bullshit backwards jump where you go 20 feet in the air and land on some invisible ledge?  That should be an upper-level enhancement in the racial tree.

As much chance of that as Shadar-Kai PC's being able to do what the NPC's do with the chains.....

I think I'm going to start clamoring on the motherboards for Kobolds as a playable race.
1)It's sure to piss off at least some of the fanbois
2)It will finally get Kobold Ledges fixed
3)It will keep the incompetent coders busy so they don't make more damaging changes to the game

I won't buy Kobold race once it comes out, of course, the value is in getting them to work on it.
