Broken chat (Read 2066 times)

	Basically I had to format pc and reinstalled the game. Now my chat is completely unresponsive Cannot read general chat, guild, party and channels. The only thing that is working is the combat log and the prompt when people loot. I already checked the incoming and outcoming boxes and everything is ok. Have not disabled general chat in private areas General chat gives me the error "you can't use general chat in this area" or something like that.......Oh yeah. My friend list got wiped clean too. I guess this is what I get for signing in a froum with shady characters such as you guys Any idea on how to fix this without having to learn retard and contact support?

Sounds like it could be a firewall issue. Google DDO and firewall ports and see if that yields which ports the Comms operate on.

It was recently while loading a box on a different server that I had another box running on and had the same prob you had.

	LOL Can you blame me? I had terrible experiences with CS and had a guildie that was banned with no reason (even before than the doopalooza "scandal") and almost had to pay a ransom to have his account restored. So......yeah, I found the real CS it seems

	well, cs would probly direct u to their knowledge base where the info about manual settings and user defined port is tho anyone knows why I have to change the value in user defined port from time to time as my game starts loosing connection even when entering quests? and this happens like one day all is perfect, next day I DC like hell till I set another value in user defined port (like something was switched somewhere). I have firewall n all ports needed set to proper values, so it shouldn't be the case.

	Ports 9000-9010 work, if you have future problems. It can also help to change it when you're hanging up on "searching for login server." I only know this because that's what customer service told me to do years ago, and it seems to help fix a bunch of issues. Don''t ask me why, though.
