Too bad so many new players are going to be casualties, though. I saw a lot of low post counts and new join dates in those threads, and I'm sure many more watched. The topic resonated.

But then they saw how new players get treated, who would stick around for that 

I guess that's what players like Urlock and Thurd and such want, anyway. They want it to be their private club, drive away the pesky noobs and let them call the shots and feel important. Maybe keep a couple of doe eyed noobs to clap for them, but that's about it.
