I had thought he was digging-in for the long haul, but it looks like he threw in the towel. I would wager he drops the game in a couple weeks. When will people on the Mothers learn we need a steady supply of new players

I can see both points of view on this.  I am curious to hear why you believe it is disrespectful?

I'll share my viewpoint.
You need to go back to the context and reason, to understand the origin.
Do you really think the phrase was used to disrespect or make light of the terrible incident in France?  I don't believe it was.
Given the person who suggested the meme was French, you can't ascribe it to culturally insensitivity either.

The phrase "I am..." existed before Charlie Hebdo.
It was ascribed to Charlie Hedbo to show support or allegiance to those affected and to show resistance to those who chose such a poor way to express their views.

Seeing it used in the context of showing support for Crane and opposing the overzealous use of power on the Turdbine forums is not inappropriate.  There is a natural symmetry there.
It could be argued that it is insensitive - perhaps, but it was not coined to show any disrespect to the victims of Charlie Hedbo.

Someone suggested the phrase should have been "We are...." which I actually agree with.
I think "We are" shows collective support without any of the confected negativity currently being thrown against someone using that sig in the main forums.
Would you prefer the phrase be "We are" or are you just opposed?

Come on, i have part of my Family that lives a few hundred meters away from where it happened.

First thing to understand is what Charlie Hebdo is : a satirical paper that fires without any discrimination. You might not like the political stance of the authors, but you respect the fact that they are just being sarcastic, funny, ... against everyone...
Another thing is that the Events that occured are all about Freedom of Speech, Freedom of being able to write, draw and make fun of everything ( ok sometime it's bad taste, I agree ).
I just hope that Idiot Full Bleed from West Palm Beach ends up in a place held by ISIS and learn what Freedom of Speech, Freedom of being able to write, read, have fun, really means.

Side note : make copies of the image file if you want to keep it, as I suspect that as soon as Cordovan wakes up I'll get a PM asking me to remove from where I put it, as I'm clearly identified in the thread.
