Warlock round 2 on lamma

Changes:

eldritch blast velocity is much, much faster
Souleater
Some new spells (evards black tentacles)

Overall, some progress but there are still some playability issues:

1) Mixing spell casting and blast is really bad.  Sometimes spells don't even register if you're mid volley.  When you do manage to cast, your volley restarts from the beginning.

2) Souleater SLAs can't be metamagiced, and souleater in general is kind of sucky for casters.  The only redeeming feature is stricken form for max vulnerability procs, but it's expensive at 22 AP.  Seems a bit hard to justify when enlightened spirit offers 6d6 base damage.

I really like the mov speed from souleater, but to base a whole build on that alone?
I mean 20% mov speed and wings does seem pretty cool. (it says 1% per warlock level, so no idea if it adds the epic levels as well, but i doubt it does)
Also, did you consider, in case its worth to take t5 in souleater for more sp shineys for shiradi builds?

Tried Tainted with Souleater in EH TOEE part 1 4 times....
Mannnnnn fuck pure warlock.
Even with 3 crit lives and Tainted Cap and 3% from Souleater it is pure shit.
When you could insta level red names non stop he had a chance to be viable now he can suck a dick, use him to get Completionist again and forget about that class.

Question: what's the active past life?

I can find via google the passive MRR past life, but not the active. Sorry for being totally and unforgivably stupid.

Release notes are posted in the Lamannia part of the DDO Forums. You should read those.

Pretty powerful.

There are 3 new spells:

Dark Discorporation.
Duration: 20 seconds

You turn into a swarm of batlike shadows. In this form, you gain Invibilisity, 25% Incorporeality, and damage from all sources (except for Untyped/Bane damage) is reduced by 50%. Attacking enemies or interacting with objects will revert you to normal form.

Silence Creature
Duration: 10 seconds
Spell Resistance: No

Attempt to magically silence one enemy, who must succeed on a Will saving throw or be rendered unable to cast spells for 6 seconds, plus an additional second per caster level. (Maximum Caster level: 20). Creatures that have been silenced in this manner may attempt to save again every two seconds. Does not affect Bosses or Raid Bosses.

Evard's Black Tentacles
Duration: 1 minute
Spell Resistance: Yes

Conjure a zone filled with many rubbery black tentacles for 10 seconds. While inside the zone, enemies are Slowed (no save). Every 2 seconds, enemies within the zone take must make a successful Strenght save or become Entangled by the tentacles for ten seconds. All enemies within the zone 1d4 Bludgeon Damage per caster level (Scales with Spell Power) every 2 seconds as the tentacles try and grab them, and an additional 1d4 per caster level if Entangled. A successful Fortitude save reduces the damage by half. Tentacles may continue to hold enemies after the zone fades, though they will not deal damage. (Maximum Caster level: 20) Bosses and Raid Bosses take damage while inside the zone, but are not Slowed, and cannot be held by the tentacles.

This.

It sucks balls when the ranger charms a dog (because that's all he can charm, so he spams the shit out of it) and on the rare time it lands, it prevents a quest objective from being completed until the timer runs out.

Dismiss Charm does not allow you to dismiss someone else's Charm.

I can accept that.  I've never bothered with ranger charms as they seemed too situational for my taste.

That's a very polite way to describe Ranger Charms as implemented by Turbine. My wife was so excited to get Charm Animal and Summon Nature's Ally on her ranger, watching her try to use it was like watching a wheelchair bound kid get a pogo stick for Christmas.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Thank God my wife sticks to League of Angels.

Seems like it would be nice if it were in spellcast too but blast is already free, so t5 from enlightened or tainted scholar seem superior.  Lelouch wrote on Jun 13th, 2015 at 6:37am:

If all we got was Evard's Black Tentacles added to the spell lists, I'd consider this update a success.

Hell, they could do an update that was nothing BUT additional spells and I think the whole player base would give Turbine a standing ovation.

Iron Body and Mind Blank?

Yes please.
