If that was a metric that they looked at, then it wouldn't have taken them 2 years to figure out people were scripting The Crucible.

Yes and no, they just knew that people spawned Crucible instances... if they didn't have who spawned it and how long it was spawned they could have had a clue.
Just that it was a popular quest for some reason. It really depends on what the metric is :
- Quest Spawn
- Quest Spawn and spawn length
- Quest spawn, Spawn length, unspawn reason
- Quest spawn, Spawn length, unspawn reason, Spawning Account
- Quest spawn, Spawn length, unspawn reason, Spawning Account, Party Leader
....

The first one just give them how many time in a day ( since it's obvious such log is timestamped ) a given instance is created.
the last one can give them a clear view that something is going on ( Reason = Reset, Account and Leader repeated many times in a row... with a very short spawn length )

I must be one of the odd few that have never ran ToEE. Just have not had any interest nor ambition to even figure out where the quest is.
The shit named loot turned me off from the quest before it even started.

Me too. Didn't bother buying it. Don't have enough of a hard-on for P&P nostalgia to waste money on shit quests any more.

wouldnt be so bad if the stupid necro ring actually fucking worked. i did end up taking fot bracers for my toons long time ago solely for my hate of air elles. Just never remember to carry them.

I think all forms of Knockdown immunity are busted.  The Enlightened Spirit level 18 core?  Busted.  (Can get overrun by giants and tripped by Air Eles.)  Kip Up from Thief-Acrobat?  Busted.  (Air Eles again.)

Yeah I said elsewhere I think the game needs more tough healers to take down. This should be fun. If they don't fumble.

Ravager's seems to work. Ran around with it from 13-28, don't remember being knocked down in that time.

I didn't buy it precisely because I do have PnP nostalgia - I couldn't stand to see them corrupt my cherished memories  Grin

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Right now I'm assuiming that if they're actually looking at numbers (not just bullshitting) that it's just a number concurrent instances. That would explain why the scripting that is still ongoing isn't raising any flags.

And it is possible that with the extensive size and length of the quest, Turbine accepted that proper or popular use of the content could not measured or gauged by finishes.

Turbine seeing what they felt was acceptable level of active use through instance numbers, would explain why they were never alarmed by the many complaints about LFMs. They may have also known from the beginning that ToEE would become primarily solo content.

That said, I hope they don't follow the same pattern going forward.

I strongly believe Poker is a DDO Dev...It makes sense if you think about it.

The claim does seem to be en vogue recently doesn't it?

Tell me, is there an established schedule used on the vault to let the users know when it is time to stop calling everyone Gay and Retarded and instead begin accusing them of being sock puppets?

I ask because I'm fairly new and I do like to make a effort to fit in. Perhaps it's in the monthly newsletter? Could I get on the mailing list?

I finally got all the heroic named stuff I needed for some triple past lives grinding, I can't really see myself going back in there for the epic stuff.  I also always enjoyed part one more than the whole quest, the node maps are really sloppy.

What was the heroic stuff you felt you needed? seems like a awful lot of grinding for gear that will be obsoleted by Greensteel in just a few levels.

I think the staff, xbow and bastard sword are better than greensteel. maybe even the dagger for assassins. idk why anyone would play an assassin unless they like to be incrementally tortured through each quest. But in case one didnt want to roll a superior assassin as a bard, you could use the dagger.
