Mysterious Remnants
The Monster Hunter in the Hall of Heroes now offers two new Defense Tomes and three new Offense Tomes in exchanged for Mysterious Remnants:
+1 Tome of Magic Resistance
+1 Tome of Physical Resistance
+1 Tome of Melee Power
+1 Tome of Ranged Power
+1 Tome of Spell Power
He also offers Upgrade Tomes that increase the +1 to +2.
Each +1 Tome costs 5,000 Remnants.
Each upgrade to +2 costs 7,500 Remnants.
The bonus from these tomes, once consumed, shows up on your character sheet in the form a Feat. Upgrades cause you to gain the feat an additional time (mousing over the feat will show you acquired it 2 times).
Like other Tome bonuses, these feats persist through Reincarnation.
5k remnants for a +1. 7500 for another +1. Fuck off. That's crap.
There was a chance here to make this really fun. Pretty much every toon would want 3 or 4 of those. At plus 2. So that's 8 purchases per character. For something negligible to power creep.
But these numbers suck ass. Given you usually get between 6-16 remnants (call it 10 for ease of calculations), you are looking at 500 kills of an at level champion for 1 +1 tome. 1250 kills per two tomes. 3750 at level kills per character for 3 +2's.
Even if I'm off and you can average 20 remnants per kill (remember every kill doesn't drop remnants, even at level kills), it is still an insane number of kills to get even one tome.
These are +1 ffs. Who is grinding a month for a +1 PRR? Especially in epic levels where being at level is much less common. If you are TR'ing and doing a BB everything is always at level or below, but doing ETR, that's not true for a good portion of the time.
