I am an oldtimer.
I know that Deception used to stack with Improved deception back in the day. And there was much rejoice...
Anyway, now I see things like Deception (some number). So.. how does it works? If I equip upgraded Ring of Lies ( Improved deception), Backstabber Gloves (Deception) and start shooting things with Divine Artillery (Deception III) what exactly is going to happen?
Will all of these be procing separately, thus stacking? Or will the Deception III override all? If I start using different weapon, will Deception and improved deception stack again? So many questions....
Try this as a starting point:

Have you googled it?
Here's a thread discussing it, but not conclusive
https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/413173-Decepting-DeceptionAbyssalMage indicates he has two deception weapons, golden guile and ring of lies and believe they work together.
There is some discussion around stacking vs separate proc too.
The rule I remember is that item/weaps will stack with same type of deception. So the example above should work, but never tested it.
That's all I could find for now.
