It is hard to like a company that does this us:

I like this game, but gosh, it never seems to value those feelings.  No, I am not a Duper.  Yes, I earned all my rewards and ingredients.

Good luck all ya that thought the Mabar stuff was gonna get those nice cloaks and tomes.

It seems Marbar is coming back as some sort of Challenge event.   Joy, 'cause that is one of the most popular things that people like!

Please Turbine, I want to like playing.  Don't screw me again.

Turbine with the challenges is like my mother in law with sweaters. One Christmas she got me a green sweater and I really liked it, so for the next 5 years every Christmas she got me a green sweater. Cove was a hit, so we need 50 of them  Roll Eyes

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Yes, completely unsubtle middle finger to their entire player base.
Even though non-duping players are calling for them to still be used, the tin-ear of Turdbine will just ignore them.
Turdbine are happy screw over their non-cheating players along with the cheats.  What muppets.

The fact that they needed to rename the components is telling:
1. What idiot designed the new components with the same picture leading to the AH fun?

2. Why rename them to "Crumbling" when they are now useless.  Why not just delete them from the game and be done with it?  No, not when you can rub the player's noses in it.

3. Ofc, the sensible approach would have been to either:
(a) keep them and re-open the old trader so people could use them.  +5 tomes aside, it is hardly cutting edge loot to unbalance the game.  Change the bloody images on the new mats to avoid confusion.
(b) automatically convert them into the new ingredients at a ratio that devalues them (slightly).  Don't create a kludgy interface that will be bugged and exploited.  However, I suspect they're "deprecated" inventory system means they cannot do this though.

You can bet the dev responsible is laughing all the way to PacMan LARP at his self-perceived wittiness, with Tolero giving him high fives all the way.

I don't get the point in changing their names.  How many ingredients and collectables and items that are basically obsolete?  There is stuff all over the place that they leave in the game that is basically worthless.

I agree with Drop.  Either leave them alone or delete them.  Changing the name seems pointless.

Yup. It really does seem like it could be a big one-finger salute to dupers. Surprised there aren't more people in the other place crowing about it.

What else did you expect ?

While Mabar needed a full revamp to try to kill the lag, it was a good opportunity for them to get rid of a set of ingredients that had been duped endlessly during the Dupathon.

Obvious Turbine is Obvious.

The few Motes and Fangs I have lying around will just be kept as reminder...

We already turned in all the duped mats for all the gear we needed anyway.

Mabar needed to stagger the startup of the instances.  That's pretty far from a full revamp.

All I know is that I got my Mabar Spider Hat, wraps and tomes.

Legit, cuz I didn't know the Vault existed when Mabar still kind of worked.

If you need a +5 tome, just do 5000 favour. It's almost as fast, and it's 1 per TR just like Mabar.
