Good God you do love to use that Victim languaage as well, since you have had it so 'rough' here is a little treat for you to try and figure out. Why is 20 seconds of moderate doubleshot and RP buffing combined with full window doubleshot bonuses a pale horse compared to a genuine burst function in today's game? More importantly, how about you try to explain why it is that Sev is trying to justify it with the Lag argument if it is such a good deal as well?

I have no idea if lag is the reason or not.  I don't really care why, honestly.  What I do care about is whether the new way is better DPS or not.  If it is worse, I don't care why they are doing it, I hate the idea.  If it is better, I don't care why they are doing it, I like the idea. 

Assume 50% doubleshot and 50RP (easily obtainable).  Old:  4 arrows x 1.5 damage.  New:  2.5 arrows x 2.5 damage. 
2.5x2.5 > 4x1.5.  And that's just during the 20 seconds of manyshot.  after that, with no doubleshot penalty, it only gets better. 

Where is the pale horse?

I get what you are saying. I think the complaints are coming from the nerf to 4x helpless, adrenalized, bluffed slayer arrow.  So, taking away the ability to do pin, sniper shot, adrenalize, then slayer arrow while under the influence of manyshot.

I whole heartedly agree with the normal damage you are saying, the issue is really with the synergy with FoTW, helpless mobs, and slayer arrow.  Potentially 25k x 4 damage.  With the new +1 crit multiplier going in, it will be closer to 30K x 4.  My suggestion is to make manyshot a stance that is exclusive of 10k stars.

^This, plus the other "Per hit chance to proc" effects have me hating what I've seen so far. Having rangers able to kite around and shed agro then plant their feet for a devastating attack before melting back into the shadows was an unusual flavor that made rangers different and fun, this feels like they are going bland cookie cutter.

Rangers sucked enough that they should boost off peak damage without touching on peak. Making it exclusive of 10k stars is an interesting idea, I hope they explore that route.
  

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

I am not saying I like making manyshot and 10k stars exclusive, however, being that there is going to be a change and that may be a way to keep a burst ranged build (moncher) and a higher steady dps build like a pure ranger who can still use a single arrow burst of FoTW, pin arrow of slaying.  Of course, all of this is predicated on the double shot penalty going away as well.
