Assume 50% doubleshot and 50RP (easily obtainable). Old: 4 arrows x 1.5 damage. New: 2.5 arrows x 2.5 damage.
2.5x2.5 > 4x1.5. And that's just during the 20 seconds of manyshot. after that, with no doubleshot penalty, it only gets better.

I get what you are saying. I think the complaints are coming from the nerf to 4x helpless, adrenalized, bluffed slayer arrow. So, taking away the ability to do pin, sniper shot, adrenalize, then slayer arrow while under the influence of manyshot.
I whole heartedly agree with the normal damage you are saying, the issue is really with the synergy with FoTW, helpless mobs, and slayer arrow. Potentially 25k x 4 damage. With the new +1 crit multiplier going in, it will be closer to 30K x 4. My suggestion is to make manyshot a stance that is exclusive of 10k stars.
