Ok this is bad. Didn't need to nerf TWF and S&B paladin.

Mechanics and archers will no longer be Paladins.

How is that bad?? Pally mechanic was totally broken. And it makes no sense. Serioulsy, I have never seen a stupid thing as a paladin with a crossbow before. Thank God it is gone!

Archers, Arties and Throwers can eat a bag of dicks.

Arties and archers are getting theyr own pass. For now, noone cares about them. Or throwers.

Metal-Beast wrote on Oct 15th, 2015 at 1:35am:
Your caster still blows dead bears for quarters, and gives change.

Nothing changed for them.

Metal-Beast wrote on Oct 15th, 2015 at 1:35am:
Fighters will get new must have feats, and will still envy your caster's awesome power.

I don't see ny must have feat there. Seriously, you don't need to take a feat to go from 130 PRR to 150 PRR wich is a 4% more damage reduction. And not that you didn't have any feats. Now if you think about it if you take just one single feat for PRR you will end up with MORE PRR than you have right now, so shut the fuck up.

Metal-Beast wrote on Oct 15th, 2015 at 1:35am:
Wolf Druids are still broken as fuck. Trees are still large plants.

I hope they nerf them soon.

Metal-Beast wrote on Oct 15th, 2015 at 1:35am:
Rangers got to sit at the Adults Table for  minute, then got sent to their room without an explanation.

All that because of 6 mlee power? I agree this was a bad move, but it didn't broke any build.

You're responses have gotten lazy and yet you are still in rare form.  Have you become lazy or just more efficient?

There will just be new crap to exploit.  There will not be build diversity just a half dozen or so builds taking the place of the top half dozen or so now.

I'm pretty sure they are going to fix wolves at some point, probably around the time they touch up monks.  They may also get at trees then too but I doubt it.

Wow aren't you full of shit and willing to be blind to the facts  Grin  Captain Etienne Navarre one of the few Paladins ever to make it to the big screen in the beloved Ladyhawk not only used a Xbow he used a limited repeater.

But then again I'm sure it was just your butthurt jealously making you pretend there has never been Paladin's with Xbows.

You're welcome!

You forget to add the IC nerf also. The Ranger Tempest pass was so bad that the loss of MP is another kick on the balls

good insight. it's both. laziness, to be more efficient in being so, requires that I do as least as possible while still maintaining a certain threshold of results.

IC wasn't nerfed.  Nerfs are changes to WAI features.  In the case of IC, a bug was fixed.  Bugs are not features.   Same with the changes to Doubleshot on repeater crossbows.  That's not a nerf.  That's a bug fix.  Now, the change to crossbows from 40 to 30%?  That's a nerf    The changes to Manyshot and 10k Stars?  Total nerf.  Warlock blast changes?  Massive nerf.  Removing MRR from armor? Absolutely a nerf.

The stupidity surrounding the IC changes is mind boggling.

I will see when the nerf pass come to live, depends on how will work on Kensei, Drow Khopesh & Qstaff, etc; if it remains the same I'll agree with you

I didn't see a need to nerf holy sword.  Pallys were powerful, but not so powerful that nobody was playing anything else.  I didn't see more pallys than rogues, bards, warlocks, rangers, or barbs in most parties.  What bothers me is it limits options.  I like flexibility in builds.

I'm totally fine with them fixing non-WAI stuff like IC/Keen and the doubleshot on repeaters.

The TWF stuff is minor.  I doubt 6MP makes a difference, but then if it doesn't make a difference, why change it.  I'd have left well enough alone on that one.  If 6MP was all you were going to do, things weren't that far out of whack.

The Warlock stuff was unnecessary.  Warlocks were all the rage when the class first came out (just like when Druid, Arti, FvS, or Monk came out) but they have slowly died down and they are no more prevalent than any other recent-pass class.  If they wanted to tone down aura and chain, I guess that'd be fine, but they should have bumped single target blast, if anything.

The mechanic rate of fire - meh.  It's a small change.  They were pretty powerful.  I doubt it matters.  But again, like TWF, if it doesn't matter why mess with it.  If it was non-WAI then I get it.

The Manyshot changes are a huge loss to the IPS/Adrenaline/Pin types.  I wish they would find a way to serve both playstyles.  I would recommend a burst format like current manyshot with few changes (just drop the doubleshot penalty) and another feat called  "PowerShot" or something that provides an ongoing, smaller boost to RP and/or Doubleshot (maybe 50RP and 50% Doubleshot that runs continuously - numbers can be tweaked to be meaningful but not OP) so that you can get an ongoing rate of fire and do more damage if you prefer this play style.  And have it work such that you either can't select both on the same character (kinda like how TWF and SWF works) or that they put each other on cool down when used (like MS and 10k works).

The 10k changes are death for splash monks.  By basing it on monk levels you really make it useless for any non 18+ monk build.  Not a fan of that at all.

The armor changes are all a mistake. I would have recommended that they fix the imbalance between evasion builds and heavy armor builds by changing the evasion feat to add your 1/2 your reflex save to MRR.   Such that if you fail the save you still get some damage mitigation.  Improved evasion gives full reflex save to MRR.   Maybe, if you want, wearing light armor reduces this by some amount vs. robes/outfit giving the full benefit.  That would have kept Heavy/Medium armor where it was at and made evasion builds less binary and controlling the burst damage a bit.  Again, play with the numbers to make it meaningful but not OP.    That concept would have been better, IMO.

The stated reasoning was to balance out "fixing" the fourth attack animation. I suspect the fix there is likely to outweigh the loss of 6 MP. I'm looking forward to that on my already over-performing tempest.

Annoying though. I was already playing the sub-optimal build with a gxbow, and enjoying it; I guess you're right and it's not a big difference, but it's annoying.

I agree, I was looking forward to trying out the burst style when I hit 20, have to level faster I guess! They're not going to listen to anyone on this though, as it's going to "fix" lag.

I'm not sure I mind it. I kinda think it could be fun having a viable pure elf monk archer. But you're right, it still reduces build diversity.

After post the nerfs....

Fucking assholes just want your money.

Balance is just a fucking excuse.

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

BTW...Sev and Co. changed their minds regarding Holy Sword not working with missile weapons...

Quote:
Upon reading feedback from players and re-examining our builds, we are making Holy Sword once again affect missile weapons. No, we don't want 14 Paladin missile weapon builds to be the best missile option. The removal of missile weapons from Holy Sword, however, has more ramifications that most of the other changes in this balance pass as it negates a design goal for a specific kind of build. The other changes have statistical changes, but the design intent for other builds is still intact and the builds play the same. This particular aspect of Holy Sword we feel goes beyond statistical change; removing the missile option actually messes up a design intent for a specific build.

(It also bugs us that the game has long bow as an option for the Paladin's special weapon and then we take away a strong DPS boost for Paladins that go that way.)
