yes, am mad bro.

I've got a 14Paladin/6Ranger build that I got the idea for from the Builds section.

I like it well enough but even though it won't really NEED to be changed now. I've been toying with the idea of TRing into a Shadar-Kai and making it a pure 20 Ranger Deepwood Stalker with emphasis on ranged sneak damage. I'd also put a lot of APs into AA for obvious reasons.

If possible, I'd like to test it out on Lam first before I commit to it on the Live server though.

Do not try the patience of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.

We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons and invocation of equations. These are the tools we employ, and we know many things.

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

THANK YOU for your sacrifice.

Although 10k build with 6 monk might be still fucked.

Ok this is bad. Didn't need to nerf TWF and S&B paladin.

My point exactly. I loves me some S&B Paladin (which was tough enough to build right before.)

Quote:
How is that bad?? Pally mechanic was totally broken. And it makes no sense. Serioulsy, I have never seen a stupid thing as a paladin with a crossbow before. Thank God it is gone!

Paladin with a crossbow is… Dubious, to say the least. But some people invested in building one, so it's a nerf, technically. Regardless of anyone's feelings about the "lore" of it.

Quote:
Arties and archers are getting theyr own pass. For now, noone cares about them. Or throwers.

Except people like my Guildee, who always has at least one toon on an Arty life. I personally don't care about Throwers myself, but I consider the people rolling them perverse, which I am 100% supportive of.

Quote:
Nothing changed for them. (casters)

Nope. Still Gaytarded.

Quote:
I don't see ny must have feat there. Seriously, you don't need to take a feat to go from 130 PRR to 150 PRR wich is a 4% more damage reduction. And not that you didn't have any feats. Now if you think about it if you take just one single feat for PRR you will end up with MORE PRR than you have right now, so shut the fuck up.

The problem isn't the PRR, the value of which can be debated. It's the removal of the MRR that's the kick in the scrotum. It was the only means Heavy Armour users had to mitigate almost all incoming AoE attacks and magical Reflex damage.

A problem the Devs acknowledged when they implemented PRR/ MRR in the first place. Their piss-poor quest design meant that your Pally/ Fighter/ Cleric/ Barb couldn't run Double Dragon or Deathwyrm without piking in the corner, or more likely, as a Soul Stone because the ridiculous AoE effects made Evasion mandatory.

Since these feats will now be the only (as I read it, may be subject to change, HaHaHa) way to replace that lost MRR, they become "must haves."

Or more likely, "Won't Needs" because everyone will be back wearing bathrobes in Mountain Stance, or splashing 2 Rogue (if you don't/ can't be Lawful.)

So yeah, I'll gripe about that shit all fucking day, because it kills build diversity, pure and splashed, yet again.

Quote:
I hope they nerf them soon (wolves and trees.)

Affects my life not at all, so meh. Also, trees are perverse. See above.

Quote:
All that because of 6 mlee power? I agree this was a bad move, but it didn't broke any build.

It sucks mostly because Rangers FINALLY stopped sucking like a $2 hooker, and then they pulled the rug out from underneath them, again.

Which was done entirely because their (current Dev team's) inability to extrapolate consequences resulted in all kinds of Dance-of-Death Pally-Rangers* (without the colour coded costumes or Dinozords) rampaging through content unchecked.

A move that seems grossly unfair, since none of the other fighting styles (THF, SWF) caught the Nerf Hammer to address "over performance." Especially when glancing blows (unless I am mistaken) are still handing out a broken 100% damage.

So 6 Melee Power may not break any builds, but it was another Donkey Punch to Tempest Rangers and to TWF in general.

*I would pay real world money for Power Ranger cosmetic outfits.

No. It was because it was becoming impossible to mlee. When people say "use a heavy armor to not be instakilled" they're not saying that because of fireballs or magic missiles, but because of physical damage. MRR is just a bonus, and you will stay with most of it. When pure rangers are wearing heavy armor we know we have a problem.

I don't see any capstone of the ravamped classes that is worth lossing for splashing monk or rogue, not couting that in the case of fighter and paladin you loose the instance bonuses if you are in light or cloth.

I dislike the point, but agree with it.

What continues to frustrate is that I know an actual fucking professional would be able to come up with a better solution than instakilled? yes/no.

For this, and so, so many other hamfisted bumblefucked "solutions" from Turbine.

But Shadow Guardian armor on all my toons and taking a nap... actually that might be part of why I do not really play anymore... still so many changes that really screw with so many builds..

Wow aren't you full of shit and willing to be blind to the facts  Grin  Captain Etienne Navarre one of the few Paladins ever to make it to the big screen in the beloved Ladyhawk not only used a Xbow he used a limited repeater.

But then again I'm sure it was just your butthurt jealously making you pretend there has never been Paladin's with Xbows.

You're welcome!

This made me laugh! Seriously every one of these nerfs is fucktarded, and the sycophants on the forums who are crawling on their knees to suck the man milk off of Sev while he masturbates in front of a mirror need to diaf.

This is actually a minor change.  All the class bonuses to crit threat range are typed as competence.  They didn't explicitly state it, so they went back and cleaned it up to make it clear.  It stops people from trying to find a way to get the crit range expansion from two different classes simultaneously.  I don't know of any builds that were doing this prior as the only enhancements that had it were conflicting for the most part.  At least until the ranger pass.

There is lots to be upset about in this thread, but I'm not sure that is one of them.  The ravager change to self healing is a bigger deal.

Sorry to have to correct you Ash, but critical rage was a fairly huge nerf for many of the top-end TWF and SWF builds. Those builds used with other crit classes but also worked only because they were made at significant sacrifice to work from the largest threat range profile. The Devs were well aware of it and the trade offs required to get it, so they had given it a pass for the last year.

You can thank Ironclown for getting it killed, when tempest went live he lost his shit in several threads complaining about how his Pallys would be made Irrelevant, and he bitched and bitched about critical rage and ranger, basically anything other than his Pallys'

At the same time Ironclown was screaming "don't touch my Holy sword" multiple threads as well, I for one believe Ironclown's drama helped push Sev and the Dev to say fuck it and go with the whole rebalance.

I haven't played one in a few months, but I still think it's a shame in that they removed one of the few remaining unique enhancements, everything is everything seems to be the games future.

I don't play a barb right now, so help me out here.  What were you stacking this crit rage with?  A swash?

EDIT:  Don't be sorry, btw.  I'm fine with being corrected.  I don't play all classes or builds and am far from an expert things DDO.

What TWF barb build was stacking crititical threat range with another class enhancement?

I'm confused by this.

I think so too, a large part of my self healing is based on jumping in the middle of 6 mobs or so...i'll try it out, not sure if 6 MP is worth switching to THF or just TRing into something different.

Yeah.  Good one.

But seriously.   Class based threat boosts only existed in swash, pally, and fighter prior to the ranger pass and them deciding to classify all these as competence bonuses.  Pally and fighter were impossible so that leaves bard.   But raging a bard sucks and swf and barbs don't have great synergy.  And I'm not seeing any stacking oprions for Twf unless you are talking about a barb ranger that everyone knew was not going to be wai from before the ranger pass hit live.

I don't mind asking questions and trying to learn here.  Honestly, that's why I'm here.  It's not for the sparkling personalities and witty banter.  The collective knowledge of some of the better players here is useful to me.  I know I'll get some comments like this as a result, but that's OK.  It's the Vault Tax.
