The fvs is beyond boring, so is wolf, mech was alright. Shiradi wasn't ever really my thing. Trees can eat a bag of dicks...did I forget anything?

Haha my ddo story. Fvs is okay and different but weak in the grand scheme of things.
Assassin is party dependent a lot. Mechanic wipes the floor with it.
Monkcher just got completely fucked. Like totally. In the ass. Without lube. Without consent. On Rohypnol.
Palemaster, I don't even ... hey, can stone/blind EE mod and 7 mins hage, so that's a plus ! For sure.

OK.  Give me 18 "must haves".

I've got: (typical strength based melee fighter)

3 - Combat style chain (SWF,TWF,THF,S&B)
1 - Improved Crit
3 - Weapon Focus
2 - Weapon Spec
1 - Power Attack
3 - STR feats (Cleave/Great Cleave/Stunning Blow)
1 - Overwhelming Crit
=14 feats

What am I missing?  Power Critical?  Oversized TWF/TWF defense for TWF?  None of those classify as "must haves".

I'm not even sure all the above are "must haves".

Even if you switch to a dex build and go precision and the dodge/mobility/spring attack/whirlwind route you still have at least 3 free feats at the end.

Don't get me wrong, fighters are at the ass end of the melee tree right now.  But their enhancements are the main reason they are garbage.  Kensai is a joke in comparison to Swash, Ravager and Tempest.  But trying to say there are 18 must have feats doesn't make sense.

What crit changes do you see that affect swash and warchanters?  The changes to Keen and IC don't actually affect anything, except weapons that had non-standard crit ranges for their weapon type, like eSoS.

The crit changes affect almost everything.

Swashbuckling gave nonstandard crit ranges to a lot of weapons.

From http://ddowiki.com/page/Swashbuckler_enhancements#Swashbuckling
Dagger, Shortsword, Throwing Dagger: +1 Threat Range, +1 Multiplier
Light Mace, Light Hammer, Kama, Sickle, Dart, Shuriken, Throwing Axe, Throwing Hammer: +2 Threat Range, +1 Multiplier
Kukri, Rapier: +1 Multiplier
Handaxe: +2 Range
Light Pick: +1 Range

Whenever you see a bonus to threat range => swashbuckler nerfed. Also Exploit Weakness will very probably be no longer doubled (it used to give +2 for keen/improved crit).

For example my Light Pick dwarf swash in Divine Crusader loses a lot of crit power

A TWF build is likely to want at least Dodge. {But I've noticed these new Armour feats seem to be strictly for Hvy Armour so probably won't affect Light/Medium Armour Builds anyway.}.

Resilience and Combat Expertise both have their uses {as does Precision}.

Magical Training for Cocoon usage.

Force of Personality if PDK Charisma spec.

And finally there's Toughness {Not the required feat it once was but still not bad.}
And my personal favourite Feat - Augment Summoning {Which I will skip if I can't fit it in - Would be nice if I could fit in a personally preferred Feat however without instantly becoming Gimped!}.

Maybe not a specific 18 Feats for every Fighter Build but close enough that 8 new Feats {4 of which will be Must Haves} is going to hurt!



Oh and there's Improved Trip of course {pre-req Combat Expertise} and I don't see how it makes sense to take 4 Trip Enhancing Feats without taking Imp. Trip?

After the recent scaling changes, things feel about right for the high end of the power scale. Not sure neglected classes will be any fun if the nerfs come and the scaling is not adjusted.

I don't mind it, I'll either run on a lower difficulty if needed (now they've dropped tiered loot because I don't have a point to prove) for speed, or take more time. Other players probably not so forgiving. Seems odd and off that they'd now move away from an easier overall experience with the game where it is financially. Maybe they'll give a portion of power back with L29-30.

I included all Weapon focus and Weapon spec feats.  I did not include an exotic proficency feat, as that was getting somewhat build specific. 

Not sure that matters.  If you are taking magical training for cocoon and augment summoning on a pure fighter, I'm not going to argue with you.  I don't think we are looking at builds the same way, and that's totally fine.

Your crit range should be 17-20.  20 for base weapon, 19 for IC, 18 for swash enhance, 17 for DC celestial champion.  The exploit weakness will continue to add +1 until you crit. 

Your crit multiplier should be x4. 

How did your light pick dwarf swash lose crit power?

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.
