DDO is a drug

Half a year since I took a break from it, miss playing it.
It does have horrible lag and bugs, even with out of touch devs is the best mmo I played, and probably will stay the best mmo.

The truth is that the other games are worst than DDO.

More bugs, more retarded devs, more money grab shit...

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,

Just admit you were molested during one of the DDO conventions. Tongue

The most broken epic PL in the game is the ridiculous AC buff from martial PLs. But when you include all the inherent benefits from reincarnation, the thing is above the roof. The benefit from TR was supposed to be minimal, but now it is game breaking. start a new character and you will feel, you will get raped in heroics.

Personally I think lower heroics on new characters are harder than Legendary Elite content on a character with good gear and has all destinies farmed.

And someone in another thread called ME delusional recently!

Wow.

Have you EVER gone to Law School Feyn? Have you EVER been asked by a United States Senator who is now the Vice President of the United States to write a paper just for him on a particular topic of Constitutional Law for his use as a Senator? Have you ever been asked to help a very notable Harvard PhD turned Constitutional scholar with his very-well received book on Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Revolutions? Have you ever been offered a job as a Deputy Attorney General BEFORE you even graduated Law School?

No? Then STFU you fucking amateur.

I've tried Neverwinter, Guild Wars 2, SWTOR and a few others.  I still like DDO better.  Despite all it's flaws.

My main gripe is usually the monetization - a few games out there look good, but the "freemium" is basically only having access to 10% of the game(limited stats, limited skills, money, adventures, etc). There's no way to buy the other content, you just have to get a subscription.

For it's foibles, DDO is literally the only MMO that does micro transactions right. I've heard of one or two that do a similar job, but DDO is still the best. Although I guess LOTR is probably about the same, lol.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

If you think DDO is a drug, then you've never had real drugs. Which is a good thing.

The mechanics of psychological addiction are all the same, whether it's a video game, a drug, boobs, or donuts.

Not in every case, no.

Which is why I said "psychological addiction."

LOL, that's great!

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

To be fair, most "cocaine" in the world is a once-pure product now cut with trashy filler, so I think the comparison is valid.

I'm talking pure, uncut, semi-moist, dents-the-fucking-razor cocaine; not that powdered shit you get at the club.

PRO TIP: it should be a yellowish hue, not white.

Video games are compulsive, not addictive.

No, you're wrong.

People really need to both learn to differentiate between physical and psychological addiction, and understand that either one can be as destructive as the other.

Agreed.

Gambling Addiction, for example, is a real thing.  Despite not having a physical component like drugs or alcohol.
