It is well known that none other than Satan, the Enemy of All Creation, assisted the developers of D&D as a method of getting young, impressionable minds to commit routine evil with their tongues.  Make no mistake, the words out of men's mouths have condemned many more to hell than the work of their hands.  If you play any other class, you are wasting time and money on a child's game, and probably not much more.  If, however, you play a "divine class", you must choose among several "faiths" for your "cahracter" to follow.  Role playing, making effigies, and deciding to "pretend" to follow another religion are simply ways that Satan has convinced you to lower your standards and debase yourselves, that he may lay accusations about you at the feet of the Lord.  Thou knowest it not, but DDO is full of heresy, and playing a "divine" class (any of them) is nothing less than an affront to the One True.

Even splashing "divines" is dangerous.  In your first two levels, you are safe, however, you must choose a "path" at level 3; which is pure heresy.  What's more, casting spells that invoke the power of a "deity" is a sin, each and every time you cast one, since you are using them to call on another "deity" besides The Lord of Hosts to your aid.  Is a game worth your soul?
