it raises your caster level (your buff lasts longer, your spell does extra d6). increasing CL also increases your spell pen roll. no effect on DCs

Well that is funny actually. If you used heighten it would increase the DC by [0.5 or 1] for lower lvl spells like charm person. Like you wear apprentice robe, and you are lvl 2 wizard with 18 int, using heighten and apprentice robe, your charm person DC would be 10+4+1+1.

Augmentation tricks heighten into believing that ur effective highest slot is = highest slot + augmentation lvl would provide.

Overall it does not, since at lvl 17 a wizard using heighten and arcan augment IX(+2) would NOT get a "lvl 10" spellslot.

But wearing abbot robe with a wiz 16 and using heighten would beef ur spells to lvl 9-ish dc.

It is a bit confusing, but useless overall imho.

Well maybe abishai set and winters wrath could provide a nice +1 dc for cold spells with heighten, till u reach the max spell slot available, lvl 9 spellslot that is.

Good to know. I've mostly played melee or ranged types in the nearly ten years ingame.  Know casters ok, but not really really well. Good info is always welcomed. Ty.
