"DDO Players" Interview with Severlin

I listened to it and took notes so you jokers would not have to.    Just jotted down what I felt was important; YMMV.  Caveat Emptor.

**********************************

1:20 Next old school module will be released ~Halloween 2016, and fit in with the Halloween theme. [My guess? Ravenloft!]

3:00 Gnomes in U30 will be deep gnomes. Possibly iconic. Tieflings and Aasimar possibly after this.

7:00 Thanksgiving weekend with have Raid member (5%) and Party member (10%) XP bonuses.

11:15 Bravery Bonus talk. I just posted this to stay awake.

17:00 Talk about whether there will ever be another expansion. If there is another, the Devs want it to be free so as not to split the player base.

21:00 Some festival items will be updated to lvl 30, but the Devs may intentionally hold some back so some quest items remain Better-in-Slot. Late Summer would be the first time we would see a jump to lvl 30 for festival items.

27:00 Talk of housing. Main impediment is whether player housing would detract from guild housing (airships).

29:00 The Devs would like to finish class passes in 2016, but they see this slipping to 2017. Next up? Fighter. Kensai will likely incorporate heavy armor. Druids forms have to be updated, as do Monk handwraps. FvS tree, Cleric domains, and artificers too. Will pick up pace after U29.

32:30 Devs want to revamp the reincarnation process and make it more streamlined. No timetable given. Will take a lot of resources.

33:00 What's up after U29? DDO's 10th anniversary, gnomes.

33:35 Executive producer's letter coming out "soon" (TM) after U29.

35:35 Sentient weapons, "moved to next year,"will be different than Epic GS.

38:45 Interview wraps up.

Do not try the patience of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.

We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons and invocation of equations. These are the tools we employ, and we know many things.

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

Yeah, I was lazy on a few things.

I did miss things like the mention of the Old School Module, as well as the Aasimar Race being mentioned, because the host started going all "YESYESYSSYEYSYESYSYEYS!!!!" on top of Sev saying "Aasimar"  Tongue

All in all, our ears are still bleeding.  Grin

but I'd rather read 3 different vaultie's takes on a SevPay interview than watch a single minute of the actual interview  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

Ravenloft

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,

People who don't know how to fix their own mistakes cleanly

Likely, but will they be Shadar-Kai vampires, just because....

I found the abundance of Shadar-Kai in night fest to be a little immersion breaking.

How is a free expansion different than like...a regular update?
