literally could not be more excited for Greensteel, Level 30, Legendary and these loot changes.

The only reason I EVER had alts was for GS mat farming, and random loot chest farming.

What a phenomenal break we players are getting. I know, I can't believe I'm saying it either. I hope my old friends come back to playing this game.

Id like them to change the color of the devotion and recon augs.. its bullshit they can only be equiped to items that go in your hand. Using a bow means i cant slot mabar augs/meteoric/good or whatever. It would be nice if they changed that somehow so that they could be slotted on gear.

Sounds like a mix.

Good:
Scaling modifiers
Affix/suffix independence (always wanted CON/spellsight items)
Potential for three modifiers

Bad:
+14 enhancement and +7 insightful bonus to stats is BS power creep
Too many trash modifiers in loot table

homey,

I'm gonna assume +14/7 stats are for the highest level loot table, requiring a crazy roll, possibly with loot modifers (level 35+ maybe more).

I wouldn't freak too hard. Also, we have +12/+4 now, legendary end game raids and content will have to go up from there anyway.

Those all sound like some awesome changes, things are finally looking up after the great ghostbaning!

Maybe now I can empty out my entire bag of pre-ghostbane gear I've been too afraid to use but can't let go of Tongue

15/8 new raid named items.

In case you haven't done the math, another +1 or +2 to your stat mod is like the weakest shit ever unless you depend on DC abilities (Necromancy, Assassinate).

The real power creep in this update is the legendary feats, but let's be honest it's a level cap raise, there's gonna be some additional power.

Stats were fucked up with shadowfail, if they come with +20 enhancement and +10 insightful it wont change shit.

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,

The only issue I see is that any named loot with stat items will generally be shit after this loot pass.  It sounds like they are going to bite the bullet and reset the stat scaling, so you wont get the current:

1/3/5/7/9/11 for +1-+6
20 for +7
24 for +8
25 for +9
26 for +10
27 for +11
28 for +12

+1 Exceptional at 18
+2 Insightful 21 (Until the last update when they put it on ML 14 gear, WTF?)
+3 Insightful 23
+4 Insightful 26

But then, that was garbage.  Way fucked up by poor planning.  It is known.

Still, if they are going up to +14 on random loot, that suggests a progression of every other level.  Which means that pretty much any item with insightful on it under the current system will be crap.  Because you can get +3 or +4 insightful at the same level you can get +6 or +8 regular.  Unless the ML calculation system isn't exact.  It would be nice to know how that works, obv.

+14/+7 is like a difference of +6 to all stats.  Even when feather ghostbaned the loot and gave everything +10s, it wasn't nearly that big a jump.  Jeez.

The one thing I don't like is how running a quest on elite increases the min level by 2. I want to have the chance to reduce the minimum level of my loot to have potentially useful random loot next TR.

Potential Improvement:
normal = level 10 loot. that is Absolute ML 10.
hard = level 10 or 12 loot that's AML 10
elite = level 12 loot that's actually AML 10

This way I can have my cake & eat it too, so long as I put in the work.

So you want to know about an exploit?

That is a really good idea.
There isn't much point giving a level 10 toon, running lvl 10 quest on elite a level 12 item they can't use.
And the item is still just a normal level 12 item when you go to sell it.

Making items inherentky better by having a slightly lower ML makes them saleable and desirable.  I'm guessing it makes the coding more complicated = too hard.

I'm just hoping  some of the old suffixes/ prefixes make a comeback. Some of them were pretty interesting. I stockpiled a bunch even when I had no real use for them. Desert Sands, Crusader and Sun's Fury were some of my favourites.

Also, not worried about the whole ML on the random loot, unless they're doing away with Cursed and wondrous craftsmanship.

The most broken epic PL in the game is the ridiculous AC buff from martial PLs. But when you include all the inherent benefits from reincarnation, the thing is above the roof. The benefit from TR was supposed to be minimal, but now it is game breaking. start a new character and you will feel, you will get raped in heroics.

Personally I think lower heroics on new characters are harder than Legendary Elite content on a character with good gear and has all destinies farmed.

Wow.

Have you EVER gone to Law School Feyn? Have you EVER been asked by a United States Senator who is now the Vice President of the United States to write a paper just for him on a particular topic of Constitutional Law for his use as a Senator? Have you ever been asked to help a very notable Harvard PhD turned Constitutional scholar with his very-well received book on Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Revolutions? Have you ever been offered a job as a Deputy Attorney General BEFORE you even graduated Law School?

No? Then STFU you fucking amateur.

Based on quest design, a level 10 toon should be running level 8 quests on elite, level 9 on hard or level 10 on norm.  If you are matching character level to quest level, a level 12 toon will be running that quest and be able to use the loot.  That makes perfect sense to me.

Technically, a level 10 toon running a level 10 quest on elite is running under level.  I don't think they should design the loot system to assume under-level running.  That doesn't make much sense to me.

What we have so far is very general and 10,000 ft.  The devil is in the details, though.  Let's see how they handled some of the tough design choices they will need to make in implementing the big plan they just laid out.
