We can still feel Puerto Potty's butthurt over ranged builds.

I wouldn't call it "butthurt", rather, it was a form of "DDO fatigue": I just didn't want to start over (again), come up with a new-and-improved sauce of awesome (home made, from scratch, using fresh ingredients) KNOWING it's just ANOTHER matter of time before that shit gets nerfed to oblivion.  After enduring nerfings to fighters (that capstone was the living SHIT!), arcane casters, divine casters, warforged, ranged toons, etc; I just didn't have another re-build in me.  If after this latest "balance" (i.e. cluster fuck) the Devs would have issued a binding proclamation GUARANTEEING no further "balances" I might have stuck around but: 1) they would never do such a thing and 2) even if they did, I just don't trust those motherfuckers after a series of stealth nerfs that those assholes STILL haven't copped to.  So I split, and let's face it, the game's been running on fumes for a while anyways; I already had a foot out the door.  DDO's best days are behind it.  The future holds nothing.

That Secrets of the Articiers release was the sternest dicking ever!  To boot, they waited until after it's release, and a sale on warforges...to nerf warforge...and after a sale on challenge packs (House C challneges were the best XP in game by a long shot)...to nerf challenge xp; in one update, the pack, the loot, the xp, and the best race for he new class were effetively worhtless.

And they nerfed xp like 2-3 times in challenges.  Grin

Stuff like Red Wizards of Thay might actually be owned by the creator of the campaign set up there ( forgot the book name ), and WoTC/Hasbro can only use it with his/her approval.

this is false, if you read the guidelines and agreements you have to agree to to write for WOTC, they own ALL ip from books they publish, no exceptions.

I'm talking of a time when WoTC didn't exist... the Red Wizards of Thay were created in 1990... for a company called TSR.

WoTC/Hasbro have locked down everything new, to avoid that kind of mess... TODAY

But in 1990 ( and before ) it was quite common to have muddy contracts...

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,
