	Iconic gnomes not so much of a surprise, it was either wizard or artificer. In 3.5 pnp gnomes get spell focus illusion as a free feat, I'm wondering if this means they'll overhaul some of the spells available to wizard. And fuck cannith crafting. the components are too heavy, autopickup on mob death, and the loot was outdated an update later.

That Secrets of the Articiers release was the sternest dicking ever! To boot, they waited until after it's release, and a sale on warforges...to nerf warforge...and after a sale on challenge packs (House C challneges were the best XP in game by a long shot)...to nerf challenge xp; in one update, the pack, the loot, the xp, and the best race for he new class were effetively worhtless.

	More interested in what the iconic past life feat is than what class they are based on. Can undo the 1st lvl of class. What the iplf is will determine how much suffering will be had at the hands of a ganomee.

Why is that a surprise? I'm no lore expert or owt but I figured Iconic Gnomes would be probably +INT and Wiz based. I hope they let me craft +insane stat items, if they do that I couldn't care less how much they fuck it up. Almost anything's better than the "It'd be useful twink if I ever played the low levels" shite now.

	blah blah from SRD regarding deep gnomes: Also called deep gnomes, svirfneblin are said to dwell in great cities deep underground. A svirfneblin has wiry, rock-colored skin usually medium brown to brownish gray. Only males are bald; females have stringy gray hair. The average svirfneblin lifespan is 250 years. +2 Dexterity, +2 Wisdom, �2 Strength, �4 Charisma. So much like sun elves, they'll be the wrong flavour of caster for their stats. Nothing new there, that's how turbine sell their +1 hearts.

	well, it was said, that iconic gnome should be svirfneblin, ie deep gnome. those are not int but wis based and whatever but arcanes - but nevermind. anyway after morninglord its not surprise to use wis based race for int based class:) how would u give people motivation to buy those +1 hearts?

	There's still a PC ? By now they should have already been fired. ( last year we were fired 1 or 2 days before Cordovan posted the request for new members ) I'm guessing we should know about the new PC before the end of the week or early next week.

	They want you to be able to start a full party at 15 in FR for new players.� What they have now is a Fighter, a Cleric, and Rogue.� What's missing from the traditional party makeup? Hence, the FR based Gnome Iconic will be a wizard.� Despite the D&D/SRD lore of snvirfneblin being +2 wis as a race.� Their iconic goals for the game seem to be the driving factor.� That being the case, they should have released gnomes with a human or drow iconic caster class.� It's not like they HAD to release an iconic gnome with the gnome race.� A Red Wizard of Thay human iconic or a Archmage of Sorcere Drow Iconic would have been cool.� The drow one would play nicely with the recent FR storyline about Demogorgon being released by drow wizards into the underdark. �

	Seems like an odd choice of races for classes all the same. Dwarven cleric, pdk fighter, shadarkai rogue and sun elf wizard would've made more sense imo. Iconic dwarf is pretty much impossible to fuck up as well.... which is probably why they didn't do it.

I would think the following iconics would be cool: Dwarf Battlerager (Barbarian) Elf Ranger Human Monk Gnome Artificer Gnome Illusionist (Wizard) Half Elf Bard Halfling Rogue Half Orc Barbarian Drow Priestess of Lolth (Cleric) Warforged Artificer I think they should make one for every class and one for every race. But not be too strict. Some races might get more than others. A few classes might get repeated, if they are cool.

	No Druid in there? Also if memory serves correctly there's about 3 different flavours of surface elves, splatbooks nonwithstanding, that lend themselves to different roles in party pretty well. Neverwinter actually picked up the ball where DDO dropped it on that one.

	Well that way they have the full party at LVL 15 in Eveningstar. Remember : at some point full party was changed from 6 to 4 when it came to dungeon difficulty. Basically all the dungeons designed before that time were toned down, and all the dungeons designed after that time are supposed to be manageable ( difficult dependant ) by a balanced party of 4 ( Melee, Arcane, Divine, Trapsmith/Ranged ).
