After I eat an otto's box XP stone, assuming I dont take all the levels right away, at what point do I start earning XP again? EG does it wait until I'm holding less than 2 levels?

Yes.  You must get to a point where u are not holding more than 1 level to earn quest Xp again. you can eat other stones tho.

Sometimes i get more xp after being double capped. Im not sure when or why. Think its optionals but idk. Its wierd.

Only quest XP is capped.  Other sources of XP (sagas, dice, MM) will still apply when you are "hard capped" banking more than a level.

Best way to get a pastlive has always been Otto's > "click anything"-LR > Ottos > TR rinse and repeat....

Playing the game is for noobs.

logging out can sometimes takeaway the extra exp from the monster manuals and daily dice though
