I've vender trashed and passed like 10 of those! I have 2 full epic ones! How can you not have at least 4 floating around your shared bank by now?!

They changed the free stuff mechanism, so be sure to log in all your characters and visit the NPC (House P, near Partycrashers).

Quote:
I've just double-checked with QA on this and here's the lowdown: Any existing character that logs in when the event is active following the release of Update 30 will get a 10th anniversary token, which can be redeemed through an NPC in House Phiarlan for one of the anniversary items. Additionally, any new character created during the time the event is active will get a token when they log into the game world for the first time. Once the event is no longer active, characters will no longer receive tokens when they log in, and the NPC will not be available.

Hmm, server open, no patches to download, smells funny.
Tried it on Wayfinder: Nothing, no token, no free additional character slot, smells shitty.

The event is only a week long and they are narrowing the window below even that?! Wow, that's pretty lame  Sad

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

10 years and it warrants only a week-long celebration. That is disappointing.

So all of 4 days, less if the update crashes or needs a hotfux, and none of it on a weekend?! Wow, they're really expecting their work to be popular, aren't they  Undecided

I think they are going to milk the anniversary for every dollar they can get from us. I am betting it's more than a week long celebration. I don't blame them for this. More dollars = more longevity. It's just the shit they all to often shovel at us to get the dollars that bothers me. The fact that the turds to often are not ready to be shat when they are dropping them on top of us.

Turbine management clearly does not understand whether they need a laxative or an anti-diarrhea medication when it comes to development deadlines and shatting out new content. Based on prior releases we most likely will need a glass coffee table, Saran wrap or 2 girls and a cup for U30.

I'm cool with them milking the anniversary for dollars - the way turbine tries to extract money is generally pretty on-point compared to typical "freemium" games.

I just think - and hope - the anniversary gets more love and more treats than just "hey, we're gonna run some out-dated events we run every year, but, like, at the same time."

Hell if they wanted to sell me an anniversary event version of the game that just had some extra shit that was A)Useful, and B)not temporary, I'd probably buy it.

Sorry but your dream would take actual effort, like, actual work you know and you can back that truck up right now.  This crew don't do effort.
They ran out of creativity after naming items after themselves.

This pretty much sums it up dude.

See, I am particularly saddened because the future of gaming is so incredibly bleak. DDO was a bizarre unicorn - a game that actually did the freemium model correctly. I know that after DDO dies, every single other MMO I play will require either a monthly fee or infuriatingly stupid micro transactions. Never again will a game just sell me the parts of it I want and then let me keep them...

Yes, but in the future those games will only RENT defective pieces to you. It's better to pay for something broken once than to have to keep on paying to make sure it still doesn't work.

I could totally see this as Dan Akroyd and Chevy Chase pitching the idea to WB management. Like "Spies Like Us" meets "Dumb and Dumber".

It wouldn't be an anniversary without the Executive Producer not saying anything and having no forum activity in almost a month.
