I'm in the market for a new tablet and I'm thinking of buying one that runs Windows.  Specifically so I can do account maintenance.

I'm not sure if it is possible to run the game, even haltingly, on one of these tablets.  Has anyone given this a try?

On a related note:  I don't believe Turbine's "minimum requirements" for running the game.  Anyone have any insights into what is actually required?

DDO doesn't actually require much.  Don't get me wrong, it will eat up whatever you give it, but it has fairly small requirements.

I wouldn't use it on anything less than a Pentium Dual Core [last few generations]

I had a Core 2 Duo that it ran like crap on.

Any accelerated graphics will run it 'Ok' to 'Great', even the built in Intel graphics on the PDC,i3+

Make sure that you purchase an x86 based tablet and not an ARM or RT model which won't run DDO.

If money isn't an issue, I can say for a certain that the Surface Pro tablets [i3+] work great with DDO.

Why are you waiting?  You can buy a 32gb USB3 thumb drive for under $10 including shipping, and the improvement it makes over running DDO from a mechanical drive isn't simply huge, it's YUGE!

they will probably congratulate themselves on how long they "kept it going" never able to see that it could have easily managed to keep itself going for far longer if they had just meddled far less drastically and with some semblance of an actual gameplan.

I've done it on this tablet:

https://www.amazon.com/WalknBook-Microsoft-Operation-Detachable-Keyboard/dp/B01A...

And it 100% works. No problems running it. And I was doing it from a Target's free wifi network Tongue

It will work, probably not well enough to faceroll EE content, but easily enough for your account maintenance or some basic farming runs.

DDO doesn't take much. I haven't had much trouble running it on pretty old and decrepit hardware, I don't even know where turbine has the minimum requirements listed Tongue

Note: I DO NOT recommend that tablet. The keyboard is a piece of garbage. The tablet part does it's thing OK though.

DDO runs okay on my Surface Pro 3, if you have no other option I guess it's okay.

Does it run well enough to do account maintance? play inventory tetris, auction house, mail, etc? That's all the OP was asking for.

Back in the day I used to use a program called Splashtop and a 7" android tablet to do all that when I was supposed to be working Tongue
