Hell, according to Sev they're only months away from releasing another shitty half completed rehashed and regurgitated version of a great classic module, the Drow Slave Lords. Replete with a new collectable and crafting system! Been only 8 months since the release of the amazing legendary greensteel our only partially visible dev Steelstar announced all the way back in April 2015. They had 8 months to get it right and guess what we got upon delivery? I'm actually looking forward to seeing if we get this update before we go hopping to the next peanut and corn riddled log rumored to be drifting our direction.

A)  The Slave Lords are not drow, dumbass.  Of the 9, 7 are human.  One is drow and one is half-orc.

B) "if WE get this update"?  Only people playing the game will get an update.  You don't play the game anymore, remember?  You claim to have quit.  Several times now.  Try to keep your story straight.  People standing on the sideline with a "The End is Nigh" sign don't get jack shit.  Except a lot of ridicule when their chicken little crying wolf gig gets really repetitive and reductive.

So in your mind people can't walk away, take a break, do something else if what they were originally doing had turned to absolute shit? Even when CITW hit, it was never this bad with player loyalty being ground down daily for now going on 2 years. Me saying DDO is going to fail, fall, burn and die is likened to an apocalyptic warning that in your opinion begs constant ridicule?

This coming from the DDO two faced shill that I might actually take seriously if they weren't constantly wiping the white crust off their mouth and then saying it was from eating a donut given to them from Cordo-cuck. You're showing your true colors Asheras and sounding exactly like those fanboi face fuckers on the MoBo's that attack anyone with a slightly varying opinion of the game that isn't unicorns shitting rainbows and sprinkles.

The game is shit. The current people running the game are shit. People like you and the Cordo-stain fanboy brigade on the main forums are shit and whether you believe it or not the future of DDO is shit because seriously it has no future.

Novalis, I understand the hate for the game and the developers but you really sound like a broken record. Take some time off the forums, don't think about DDO, don't talk about it and chill out. Seems like you need it.

Believe me, I know I sound repetitious but how many times do the players need to voice their opinion and how many times to they need to get ignored and only followed with baseless ridicule, strawman arguments and rhetoric en masse? I have already resolved not to play until probably well into September. Me coming here and sounding off is actually a benefit to my other project I'm working on. DDO and staff taking a handfull of Exlax and washing it down with cascara sagrada and senna tea then going for a jog 15 minutes later everyday for the last 2 years was exactly what I needed to focus on work.

DDO was a pleasant distraction for me for many years. When I quit for 2 years and came back it seemed things had improved since the 2012 MOTU bullshit and I'm really glad I missed the CITW meltdown. But since 2014 I think I enjoyed a solid 5 months of DDO before I began to notice the devs really didn't give a shit and upon further discerning, the fiefdom that had been developing. It would be different if it was just a console game, but because of some really shitty people, they sabotaged a great game and created a big rift with online friendships forged over years.

For me, taking a break is one thing. Walking away completely is unthinkable without at the very least voicing how I feel. I would rather sound like a broken record than people like Asheras using the Hillary Clinton method of arguing, jumping to and from whatever standpoint will benefit them in the moment.

You stated yourself that you sound repetitious but in the next paragraph you say you can't walk away without voicing how you feel. You are contradicting yourself. You already voiced yourself, many times, too many, over and over. Time to break.

That said, bye. I gave my 2c.

Let's not forget that this is Turdbine. Three possible paths for the new expansion:

1) Lag
2) Bugs
3) Lag and Bugs

Two new Epic Destinies? Where would they go? Each Sphere already has three.

I wonder if Sev meant two new "Enhancement Trees"? One for Favored Soul and one for Artificer. Both of those classes only have two trees now whille all the other classes have three.

Psionic is its own power source, so it would have its own sphere.

I prefer the Ravenloft & Aasimar/Tiefling option but Psionics could be cool too.

Let's assume this BS is true.

It clearly shows how delusional and out of touch the author of those items is in terms of the wants/desires of the player base, current, former, and potential new players.   Neither expansion would attract the kind of pre-sales required to support an expansion in the first place.

This. I don't want either of those options as outlined. Why the fuck does he think anyone wants to play Githyanki/Githzerai? Personally, I couldn't give a shit about a new race. I know other people want it and if the devs decide to create one, I'll accept that.

And Ravenloft? Really? Why? Seriously: WHY? So, we can get just those 15 quests or whatever that are in their own stand-alone and abandoned Ravenloft setting? How about we explore some of the places we already have open to us? Maybe we could continue along the storylines we already have going, like the one with the Netheril? How about we track those fuckers back to their home base and finish the slaughter? Or we could go to Argonessen and thump the dragons over that stupid prophecy.

I don't want psionics put into the game. Turbine will just fuck it up and suck all the fun out of the class. Or make it stupidly over-powered like Warlock and Barbarian, where you can't help but enjoy yourself (for at least a little while) while you're completely curb-stomping either all the content the game has to offer or as near as that it's a distinction without a difference.

At the same time, while they haven't listened to anything the players have discussed, thank God they haven't listened to those fuckwits who want a new god damned starter area and 15 levels worth of quests to go with it! Here's an idea: If you're tired of running Korthos, the harbor, the marketplace, and adjacent zones' quests, perhaps you should get a character into epic levels and stay there a while? You know, give yourself the fucking break from lowbie quests that you're looking for.

Whatever. I don't really give a shit. It's not like I'm likely to buy the expansion should it ever make it past the vaporware stage.

Why - Because NEW SYSTEMS!.  My new system is BEST new system!

Old storylines don't give the opportunity for NEW SYSTEMS! **and** require that current staff acknowledge that the previous efforts have value, so to hell with that stuff.  We're lucky that we don't have to roll new characters for every new update to the game.

I have never played with Psionics in PnP, and we never ventured into Ravenloft. That said...

From $$ point of view, Psionic expansion looks like safer bet, because with TWO new classes, all those quintuple completionists will have to come back for at least two lives to reclaim their completeness. This means XP pots, otto's boxes, +1 hearts (because gith iconic race(s) would have some anti-synergy built-in, making the default class choice incredibly gimped), store-only Power Point potions, etc.

Personally, I probably prefer the second option, particularly looking forward to Monster Hunter with some badly needed power creep, particularly in heroics.

If the unified Dread mechanics and added difficulty turns out to be something similar to first iteration of monster champions, there's much drama to be expected on the forums, could be fun...

this information is laid out in a manner that says to me "i need this on the vault can you go post it"

so im going to direct reply to sev i guess

first off your game sux m8

heres the deal. this game is not adding to its market share. the source of your revenue and bad PR is committed to whatever you choose to give them. the whales are fucking WAITING to embrace ANYTHING good you do as they expect nothing. What you should do is add simple but dynamic content, which will astound newer players and distract vets. Utilize this paid time to repair and augment things that long time players have complained about. camouflage the resources expent as this expansion, in your simple but unique, puzzle oriented update. dont set your scope too broad, theres no one worth impressing here (your remaining demo). instead create something mechanically interesting, fuck the bells whistles and systems. Choose whatever mask you wanna put on it- but make sure its mentally challenging. create something that will be a unique experience every time-  abbot tiles are a great example. just add some shit whose initial state is based on your half assed RNG and everyone will be shitting themself for not having a set method of guaranteed (gou ren teed) instructions for completion. if you expect this to be the last hurrah, make sure you give associated items a fuck load of customization options. expect people now and in the future to 'mod' these items to fit the holes in their gear sets. think stat boots and generic shit, leaving build specific effects to named things from previous sets. if you wanna put a pretty gold star on your resume` churn out a massive unwarranted profit on a dead game.

i miss boston's bro order a side of mozz sticks for me next time u are there 011000010111100101111001

I think most dev ideas are laid out to post here.  I believe turbine wants to lift ideas from here to use in the game.  any proof, nah, I'm just drinking, and like to think they come to read (semi) balanced ideas that aren't fanboi demented.

that said... I have not put money into the game for over 15-16 months.  I have plenty of TP from farming past lives, but would be willing to throw them some cash, for a new expansion, to incentivize Turbine to continue paying their staff  Tongue

I don't care what the expansion is.  I don't care the new classes or races.  I don't mind grinding for gear that gets out dated at each update.
its a total distraction and entertainment to me, as is reading comments here on the Vault.  Hell, a nail in the pecker is better than "quality time" with the wife.
