	well, when u realize that most of population is dumb its easy to figure that MMO to be really massive has to be dumb, simple and kitchy. But u hardly find any good developer wanting to do that:)

	I'm of the mind that to truly redefine the MMO genre a company like blizzard with enough funding needs to do it. I think an approach of some thing more like how sigil functioned in DND planescapes a central hub for online socializing and access to an ever expanding list of entire worlds to wander and explore. The only company ever to try anything close to that remains a stable and ever increasing and that's the company behind the entropia universe MMO which is actually like four or five different game worlds with distinct differences all on the same engine as a platform and the ability to travel between them. DDO should never of been eberron and storm reach. It should of been sigil. That's an actual self contained city that people can't expect to just come and go through nor have an entire world around. We then could of seen expansions being new worlds as they acquired the right to use them. The issue of course much of every campaign setting isn't even owned by wotc dragonlance first and foremost. But even many classics. Pretty much anything not reproduced during wotcs various reprint classics eras is off limits. Many classic bits of art and even maps also. Its one reason they went so hardcore realms supporting because it alone is all theirs and men like greenwood who have sold themselves body mind and soul to that company.
