I have a genuine hatred of several of the Mobo posters and that fat fucking pile of homeless person shit Cordovan. So yeah, I get some entertainment from trolling them while I'm at work. The rest of my post is pretty fucking accurate. I'm guessing you're a middle aged over weight neck beard type, otherwise you wouldn't be so butt hurt.

Too intelligible.  That rules out a KNN sock.   Hi there wannabe.

Must be a great life you have compared to all the *neckbeards* if this game was important enough to you that you developed a "genuine hatred" for some random people on a forum of a fantasy game you claimed to quit.

You should meet up with KNN in whatever bullshit fantasyland he currently clams to be living large in.

I'm sure you and he can get together and make it rain on all the supermodel escorts swarming you in whatever make believe casino you roll in while making six-figure bets in between working out while eating caviar, drinking "dom" and wanking it to posters of a Arnold Schwarzenegger in his prime 'cause you're such a badass.

Honestly, the magic has been broken for me for a while now... I just log for my Static Group on Monday night, then for the Friday and Saturday raids ( when I'm not on call )... eventually I'll log for an hour or two one night in the week, but it's becoming more rare.

The main issue is the bug riddled game and the constant system changes.
I think the turning point for me was sometime around Shadowfail... before that I was up to date with all the new quests, after Shadowfail I started to drift off, and it's probably tied to the Seizure Inducing Purple Haze ( for me it's just headache inducing, but still it takes 3 or 4 occurence that I can't avoid by looking away and I got a splitting headache ).

I haven't done more that light exploring in Haunted Hall and a few speed runs... even less in TOEE, and I haven't set foot yet in Slavers.
( and honestly, as I have access to the PnP books, I have no interest into running them... I'll post a 'Flav Proof' picture  at some point of my PnP collection [ bearing in mind that I just shifted more than half of it [ GURPS, ADD, DD4, and more ] into wooden crates in the cellar. I know I posted on the fanboy forum a picture of some of my PnP shelves long ago... it didn't get smaller )

This for me too, except I haven't bothered to purchase Toee or Slavers.

I bought Shadowfell for myself and my family, I can't imagine them packing enough into a 2017 expansion to get me to buy it on even 1 account nevermind adding 3 family accounts. Shadowfail left a bitter taste.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

That was what happened for me, too, OP. The magic just suddenly disappeared. I realized I was logging in due to some weird sense of obligation. The game that I loved no longer existed.

What's funny is that many of you probably never knew the game I'm talking about. I left the game six years ago. Let me tell you, at one time, DDO was a true gem. It's a real shame to see what has become of it.

Really? I think we all demonstrate what's wrong with us pretty well. Why do you have to guess?

This is a valid point.  Turbine had an intern (not giving any offense to interns, just pointing out how trivial these fixes were for the rock stars on the Turbine staff) who fixed a pile of bugs regarding the game lying to the players about how things works.  And it took her maybe 4 hours to do so.  These bugs had been in the game for years, and yet they were trivial fixes which didn't require any kind of deep dive into the game code to accomplish.

What does that say to the player base about Turbine?  That they want to put out a quality product?  No.  That they have consideration for player submitted bug reports (because any standing bug will invite repeated bug reports which they must have just thrown on the slush pile to ignore)?  No.  That they have pride in their work?  No.
They allowed these bugs, and there are a good number of them remaining, to stand for years, because they have an incredible disregard for their customers.

I worked many years ago at an operations center for an ISP.  Once the vendor rep for our equipment was on site, and my boss' boss was showing him around.  He got to the monitoring station and ordered the guy on watch to bounce a server to demonstrate the recovery time.  The problem being that any server had multiple customers on it who would be rudely disconnected.  I jumped in and said "Hey now, if we're going to bounce a server, let's at least impact the least number of customers as is possible" and we bounced the last server in the hunt group instead of some random one in the middle.

That is kind of the minimum level of customer service which should be expected:  When your superiors order you to do something which is harmful to the customers, you jump in and take action in order to minimize that harm.

Customer service is not just a title, it is a mindset.
Turbine does not get it.

Well, there are several other forums other than the DDO one on your site.  So you get a pass unless you don't play any of those games and don't participate in any of those other forums.

Well, I'm curious.  If you care to share, why would you bother following and posting on a forum for a game you no longer play?

When I stopped play EQ, I stopped cold turkey.  I did notify my guild and RL friends who played that I had quit, but that was it.  Similarly with WoW.  And also with a few sets of browser games.  If I quit DDO it would be the same.  I'd tell the very few people I give a rat's ass about that I was quitting, and I'd quit.  So I'm curious why it is different for you?  This is not some kind of hidden mockery or set up for trolling, I am seriously curious as to why you or anyone would spend time and effort on a forum that you weren't willing to spend on the game associated with that forum.

Sure. Here are my reasons and for real:

1. It is a habit.
2. Vault has non-DDO forums.
3. I said I'm not playing the game. But I still login time to time and check things in my guild and trade a bit. Technically I'm not playing but more like kind of running a business.
4. I did not stop playing because I did not want to play but because of unavailability of free time. I may return questing if my life allows it and if the game is still there.
5. Strake has beautiful blue eyes.

Because Nignog is a masochistic attention whore and it's funny to see him cry.

But I still play, so I guess the question's not directed at me anyway.

This.

I would also add that they don't understand that in entertainment, talent sells product.

When an intern steals the show from #rockstarz, you need to rethink your staff, your management style or your business model.

Probably all of the above.

Although hiring Travis Willingham was a massive improvement over that fucking embarrassment with Wil Wheaton, so I guess there's that.
