WB has been bought... by AT&T....

Well actually it's Time Warner, mothership of WB that was bought...

So now Turbine's Food Chain will be as follow :

AT&T -> Time Warner -> Warner Bros -> Turbine.

Now if only they could move the servers from whatever crappy hosting facility they use to a real datacenter owned by AT&T it would be great...
We, Europeans never had issues when the European Game Servers were hosted by AT&T in Amsterdam.

The most broken epic PL in the game is the ridiculous AC buff from martial PLs. But when you include all the inherent benefits from reincarnation, the thing is above the roof. The benefit from TR was supposed to be minimal, but now it is game breaking. start a new character and you will feel, you will get raped in heroics.

Personally I think lower heroics on new characters are harder than Legendary Elite content on a character with good gear and has all destinies farmed.

Wow.

Have you EVER gone to Law School Feyn? Have you EVER been asked by a United States Senator who is now the Vice President of the United States to write a paper just for him on a particular topic of Constitutional Law for his use as a Senator? Have you ever been asked to help a very notable Harvard PhD turned Constitutional scholar with his very-well received book on Legal Philosophy and Constitutional Revolutions? Have you ever been offered a job as a Deputy Attorney General BEFORE you even graduated Law School?

No? Then STFU you fucking amateur.

They haven't been bought yet.

The deal still needs approval after anti-trust issues are addressed.

Are you fucking insane?  They have proven their utter, staggering incompetence in server migration, and you think suggesting yet another one is a good thing?

Seven chimpanzees and a beagle could perform a better server migration than Turbine.

Hey, server migration is hard.

It'd take at least 8 chimps,  a pygmy marmoset and a Basset Hound to do it better.

Be fair.

I've dealt with AT&T at the enterprise level in the US for 10+ years.  If you think AT&T will improve things from the low, low bar that Turbine has set, you're most likely going to be disappointed.

AT&T actually makes Comcast look good sometimes if you can imagine that.

Ordered a new circuit from them and they said 90 days.  9 months later, was still waiting for the circuit.

Ordered a new circuit from Windstream for the same site and 1.5 months it was live.  AT&T is the LEC for the Windstream circuit...

Charter Communications just bought Time Warner in May.  If AT&T buys them so quickly, it can only be bad for business.  There hasn't been enough time for Charter to decide which Timer Warner employees are worth keeping, or which ones need to have their positions filled by Charter employees.  I'd imagine they already have a company full of ass kissers and yes men.  Then to do it again so quickly, it sounds like one big clusterfuck to me.

Add in that AT&T already owns Direct TV, so I'd be shocked if it happened.  The government wouldn't let TW and Comcast merge, why would they essentially let Direct TV and TW merge?

Edit: Nevermind.  It looks like Time Warner Cable (TV and internet) is a separate entity to Time Warner.  So the Direct TV/TW Cable thing wouldn't be an issue.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.

well, on our side of the Pond AT&T seems to be a correct Tier 1 Carrier.

And as I stated, when Codemasters hosted the DDO Servers in AT&T Datacenter in AMS we never had any issue...
and we didn't have any lag ( except on old decrepit hardware that were below the minimum specs, or when everybody in the server was in Phiarlan Theater for some event, with GM dropping mob on top of us. ).
Latency was in the 20/40ms all the time for me.

I expect that is mostly due to the more competitive nature of the telecom market in the EU.

In the US, mega corps have so much legislative protection and such minimal competition that they have almost zero incentive to care.

As one of the AT&T techs told me while installing the hardware for a non-AT&T circuit, "It's okay, we own all the lines in this entire area.  We either get our cut directly from you or we get it from your provider because lease the lines from us."

Sure anything AT&T decide will have fuck all to do with Turbine but any changes they bring could easily kill turbine as a side effect.
