Ah. So we've moved from thinking it is exploiters to thinking that it is SSG staff creating accounts to fluff up the numbers for a potential sale?
Spitballing potentials is nothing like cementing absolutes. I can point you to a few books on the subject if you're having difficulties differentiating between the two
Joking aside, which is more probable? Over a hundred new people spontaneously and simultaneously deciding to try an mmo that's been all but dead for easily half a decade? Or...something else? Because I was active on Cannith when the game was getting good press for RL and we saw a trickle of interest compared to what we're seeing now.
My spiteball didn't stick though, btw. The theory was, yes, I'm noticing guildless 1st lifers in all the low level quests, but are they running them or just parking their toons in the quests?
Pretty sure they're running them now and more people are continuing to join. About 45% of the who's list today (European morning) were toons levels 1-7 (most of which still aren't in guilds). Each of those levels had 15-25 people on-line playing vs the higher levels that have like 3 or 4 people playing at those levels.
Having 6 vets on line at level 12 vs 24 new players (that's not counting the vets TRing) at level 2 is weird.
Unless the game is being promoted on steam or something, I'm still way curious to how all these new people are finding out about the game (they still don't chat or join reaper groups though).
Edit - just logged in; 30 new level one toons. About 7 of them either in the shipwrecked shore or the grotto.
Also, Darcat is still doing something weird over by the auctionhouse in the harbor.
