	If you study Gertrude Stein and read enough of her poems, you eventually come across a review that puts them side by side with the writings of several wards of a mental hospital. These people had schizophrenia, and the inescapable conclusion was that Gertrude Stein's poems were very similar. The mental patients made more sense. Not a lot. But it was discernible. Gertrude Stein's signature achievement was that she out-schizophrenic'd schizophrenia. She ... broke ... language. The review itself seemed confused about whether or not to admire that. You see, no one had done that before (on purpose). Fast forward to today. It's not admirable. It's ordinary. We have spambots doing it. When I see these posts, I picture them side by side with schizophrenic writings, and Gertrude Stein poems. I ruled out Gertrude Stein, on account of dead. So then I thought, "Which is it? Which one makes less sense? Schizophrenia, or spambot?" And I am honestly stumped. But what if we think of the advances we're making in AI. Why can't it be both?
