Apparently SSG has decided that melee need upwards of a 50% HP increase.

Appears to be a stance that will drop RP to 0, spell casting range to touch only, and +50% HP. Auto granted in epic levels.

this probably does not hit live as proposed. it raises tanks to over 10k+ hp, dwarf con barbs to 7k+. It's actually great for characters without all the racials and epic lives, but there is no way they can balance that without making uber characters even more godly. there are already low skilled/ low game iq players soloing r6 on melees that let their racials, epics, and reaper points carry them.

it's such good return on xp. compare it to an entire heroic life and passive pl benefit/feat. 1 point in any tree is few hp, + any of damage, attack, dc, prr, dodge, spell pen, spell points, mrr, or main stat.

leave it to ssg to not know how the end game works, and then decide to arbitrarily throw massive buffs out. Kinda sad because ever since duality got nerfed the game has been remarkably balanced and a good combination of fun/challenging. Oh well. Reaper 20 anyone?

Never mind the kobold I'm fighting can be instakilled or charmed. I'll just wander around doing less dps to a reaper than an energy drain. I might as well carry innervate scrolls around.

No, then the increase is halved roughly if theyre staying in the hp stance. so if tanks get to 6k in reaper, then new stance would be 7.5k instead of 9k if it were to stack
barbs, monks, rangers, rogues get more leverage out of it since they lack a stance. barbs will get an insane return while monk, rogue, and ranger would mearly net 1-1.5k~ , as most of them are at 2-3k hp in reaper.

And some of the tanks might not have all of the weapon feats to keep stacking the 10%s up.
Aasimar 10% stacks though. Aasimar barb hp/hamp machine.

Honestly I see what he's trying to do, but I'm not sure how they can make melees easier to play for less skilled players playing less than optimal builds without trivializing reaper for the melees who are already running r10.

Problem is his solution is a noob trap. It defeats the awareness and teamwork that reaper instills (even for pugs) with the weird touch-based spell situation.
Not to mention the unforeseen fuckery that is DRUIDS. Or perhaps they've seen it. They've made a comment about this affecting cone spells. So I guess dragonboring gishes and wolves are a wee bit fucked. Not to mention for any druid running this you can kiss dropping AoE CC out the window.

The problem he's trying to solve with the whole casting thing is obvious, but instead of this whole touch range thing I'd like to see a different method to prevent casters from taking advantage of this. Something similar to the combat expertise penalties would probably be a better solution.
If this goes live, Aasimar will become even more popular than it already is for people who run high skulls.
This will also probably encourage people to play aura-less auralocks which is something we definitely don't need.

SSG just stumbles from one knee-jerk to the next. A year of melee whining about reaper and SSG are just starting to react, while the smart portion of the player base has figured out that it isn't so hard after all and melees are rocking reaper.
"Too little, too late" doesn't even apply here. It's more like "Unneeded, too late."

Even if they were to stack, a tank in HP stance would not go from 6k to 9k. Percent HP boosts add together, then apply to HP. Current 6k HP tanks are probably Fighter or Paladin with Artificer and Wizard splashes in US, probably with a 4 piece GS set. They would already have a 90% increase to HP from those sources, giving them about 3.2k HP before percent boosts are considered. Adding in the extra 30% from the new stance and 10% from the now-stacking Aasimar stance and they would be looking at around 7.3k HP after the change.

If it's a problem with Reaper and not epics, why isn't it fixed in the Reaper tree?
If it's a problem in all content, why isn't the fix in the SWF, THF and TWF feats where the bonuses only activate when the weapons are equipped?
Additionally, I thought Reaper was suppose to be the challenge mode to keep "leet" vets happy since they watered down Epics with MOTU, instead of the new normal mode that these changes seem to be pushing.

if this is a % increase, nothing changes, those who have more hp will get even more, but if it was actually a fixed value like 1k it would be better.
