Wondering if they ever plan to update crafting...

I like it.. lets me build to need based on the toon. It has shortcomings though. They killed augment slot drops and you can't do set bonuses. Also, most of the really nice boosts/combos aren't available to crafting

Would be nice if they brought back some of the effects that got killed off right before they switched over the system.

Personally, I love the idea of full customization, and wish they would update so if you hit the top ranks of crafting, the limits of what can go where fall off. The caveat can be that it's BTA only. Would also like to see Quality bonuses added to the list, reserved for 390+ ranks, and Artifact bonuses reserved for set bonuses which only become available
@ Capped Crafting

Make it so an effect has multiple stages and the extent of the effects would be based on the level of the crafted item

http://ddowiki.com/page/Update_14_named_items#New_item_enchantments

Set bonuses could be derived from combining multiple effects from different items.

I know it's never going to happen.. but it would be SO fun..

Whenever a dev feels a need for a resume buff, heshe either "updates" a crafting system, or god forbid....we get YAFCS.

When they finally manage to drive the stake into DDO's vampire heart, it will be on a crafting bench, and the stake will be made with 3 tiers of mats.

Umm, they already have 5 tiers of mats in the current Cannith Crafting system.

I always assumed they read this article and thought it was serious:

Doubtful Cannith Crafting will ever see another update. You saw how long it took them to update it the first time.

I'll never understand the propensity of people to brag about being good at a video game. Its a toy you play with for fun. The only person who should be proud of you is your mother. If you're 3.

You know they'll half-ass killing ddo.  They'll settle for 3 tiers and call it an improvement.

Oh, you want an Epic stake, too? They'll implement that after DDO dies and reincarnates.

When it dies, they'll cast res on the DDO's soulstone.

Just IMHO cannith crafting is in perfect position right now. Its easy and cheap to lvl-up to 250-300, you can fit stats you are missing and will be as good as most named until endgame. It really helps to catch up if you dont have, say, heroic gs or other good stuff. You still can get better random loot gear, yet it very rare to happen.

The only thing I want them change abot CC is broken spellpower on weapons. It've been turbined for ages and well known issue, they still dont give a fuck, even now, when energy dps so far behind.

Another issue is legendary slavers. There still no alternative for DC spellcaster, so they force people to farm it till they get old,or bother other folks to help with farm. Thats just terrible and totally not fun IMO.

What is this "endgame" you speak of? When did DDO get one of these?

Granted... its a HELL of a grind... 800 pieces of each of the 3 main mats, then there's the extra slots mats...  for a single item, and most go for 3/5 piece sets  Shocked

And yet... still boat-loads easier then LGS

I've farmed slavers so hard that I never want to go in there again.

IMO the next raid should have an option of applying a unique stacking craft to any piece of gear---sans the eldritch rituals.

This is what my guild does.  We are slowly climbing the skulls on Baba and Strahd and Shroud.   And doing R10 of the other raids that can be ran at cap.  Some, like MoD, are interesting on high skulls.  That water hurts like a bitch.   And theres no self healing thru it.  That leads to some interesting situations where maybe you can't split the party and do both sides simultaneous.  You have to do one, smash and grab, and then do the other.  But that makes things a bitch for the people in the middle.

Update it?  It deployed with bugs like all of their other systems and won't even see any bug fixes before ddo is a thing of the past.

Making the slaver items is pretty easy.  Getting the mats for the set bonus that only rarely drop in pt1 is the kick in the nuts.

No, let me be Frank.

The bugs are detrimental to the player-base, of course they aren't going to see fixes.
