I bought a new shitty laptop after stepping on my old one and didn't want to spend a lot of money on something I don't really use other than facebook, porn, and espn. DDO was working just fine until the most recent Win 10 update and since they is so choppy/laggy I can't play. I uninstalled again, after just re-installing and hitting 30, but I want to come back and with Christmas and another kid on the way a gaming computer isn't in the books until January.

Any advice?

if you have decent internet connection and play ddo via steam, you could try nvidias cloud GPU beta. its free for now, juts took me 2-3 days to get accepted

or just get ddo into your steam account and use you normal login details. game is instantly installed on the cloud so you have no wait time

Reinstall your graphics driver.  Do you know which graphics you have?
Should be ok for DDO at the lower graphics settings.  If heat is the problem, the game should be ok for a few minutes then start getting choppy.  If so vacuum out all the vents on the side and bottom of the laptop.  Make sure that you aren't blocking the vents when you play.  You can buy a side cooler like this one https://www.amazon.com/Temperature-Auto-Temp-Detection-2600-5000RPM-Nintendo/dp/... If hunt a bit you can find an ok one for around $15.  They actually work pretty well.

In the extreme lower right-hand corner of your screen, click on the notifications icon which is to the right of the clock.

Then click on "All settings"

Click on "Gaming"

In the top middle of your screen you'll see a small "slide switch" labeled "Record game clips, screenshots, and broadcast using Game bar"

Slide that switch to the "Off" position. Your game should be a lot less choppy now. You may have to reboot but I doubt it.

I found my ddo ran better when I optimized my PC for gaming. Theres lots of guides on youtube. Just search for "optimize windows 10 for gaming"

So I just rolled back the update and it works now. Don’t know why I didn’t think of that....
