missing surprise announcement?

There is a thread about the producers letter for 2018 on the Mobos where someone asked about the surprise announcement that was supposed to come around now.  Jerry suggested the expansion was it, but as I remember there was talk about something "exciting" coming and irrc the expansion was already a known commodity, or am I wrong and the expansion being Sharn the big deal?  Something seems a tad fishy.

I think the "exciting" thing was White Plume Mountain...or it could be Sharn.

WPM was exciting for me (I'm old) but Sharn could be very cool, too. I'm guessing the Eberron geeks are "excited" about Sharn.

Agree with technomage.  The surprise announcement was white plume, iirc.

I think either of those things could have been "it" but it was referred to specifically by Jerry, Lynn, and others and so it seems odd not to simply state, "oh that was sharn", or "that was WPM"  Just makes me think there was something else that got either canned or pushed into the expansion maybe?

Re-reading the Letter from 2018, it isn't WPM or Falconry.  WPM is mentioned by name in the letter.   And the surprise announcement is an adventure.   (So that rules out falconry) 

I'd suspect it was Sharn Expansion.   I can't think of anything else that would qualify.

It's hard to guess what they find exciting. I imagine it's anything that makes life slower, more difficult, and less efficient. They must get really disappointed every Christmas. Just once, I'd like to see a DDO dev get what they really want: Their favorite sweater, "updated" from pieces of every one of their old sweaters.

Well there was that rumor that they are doing Isle of Dread for the next of the classic packs but that was quite awhile ago so I don't know if that would be considered new or not.

Frankly I wouldn't have minded them doing Anauroch as that sounded rather interesting to me but I doubt they will resurrect that anytime soon.
