	My potato finally kicked the bucket, was looking for a decent laptop, one that might actually even let me play a game or two other than DDO! Does this Dell seem pretty decent for the price, specs looked pretty good to me, but I haven't quite finished my coffee yet so.......: https://www.bestbuy.com/site/dell-g7-15-6-laptop-intel-core-i7-16gb-memory-nvidi... And if not any suggestions around the 1000-1500 price range?

	I'm not a fan of the 128 GB SSD with the 1 TB SATA drive config. The 128 GB is too small. Everything wants to install on C (and for performance you probably want stuff on on the SSD. Just data files on the SATA) but there is no room for that. I'd not do less than a 512 GB SSD these days, personally.

	Solid rig for some things. The video card is pretty good for the most part but the screen is pure ass. At this point you can probably snag a desktop with similar performance with a lower end gaming monitor (144hz+) for about the same price. Laptops offer mobility but generally suffer from lower performance per dollar and have a tendency to either overheat a bit or throttle performance due to heat.

Going to be using an external monitor as main display most of the time. The mobility is definitely why I'm going laptop instead of desktop. Travel a fair bit for work and it's nice to not have to leave your games behind!

	Then you should be pretty good to go for the most part. The price looks good but I'd honestly spend a hour or two shopping around to see what's available. Even the same thing for the same price but free shipping is worth looking for.

	few months ago i bought a worse model lenovo legion i5-8300h @ 2.30 GHz, 8 gb ram, and geforce gtx 1050 same disk configuration as you have I am happy with the purchase. Even with two-three boxes ddo runs fine. Disk. Got DDO on C, Lama and possibly other few other games on D.

( and why the II... because I managed to break a sata connector on the first one and had to buy a second one after sweating alot to backup all the content before it was too late )

	Wrong question OP. It is not whether the laptop is decent enough for DDO, but rather is DDO decent enough to be given space and resources on that laptop.

My old potato was 8-9 years old and DDO was literally just about the only MMO that would run halfway decent on it. (And even had to run DDO on lowest graphics settings) I'm looking forward to trying some other games out!
