U45 is the largest system update in five years, yet never have I seen so much effort accomplish so little.

Inquisitive is so far dead and buried that it will never come back. Has any class been nerfed this hard before? Monk was still playable after their nerfs, but this is absolute hot garbage.

18/2 8.9 sec kobold no debuff.

Yeah, it feels like this update is part busywork for most of the Devs and part vanity project for Steelstar.

Ranged has always been cancer to me, but I got it in on live to see what the hubbub was. It's fun. Looking forward to the next melee thing after 45 drops.

ie - never ran inquis before 12/19.

Nerfing Inquisitive goes against Steelstar's vanity as he's perfect as is.

Lyn apparently is the one responsible for Strikethrough on the THF side of things. I find that one a bit hard to believe though; as it reeks more of Steelstar or any other dev who's never played a melee and I've ran with Lyn on live before so I have some hope she's not that incompetent as to think this is an actually solid buff to THF.

Then you're one of the slowest learners on these boards.

It has been pointed out here multiple times here that Lynn's given FAR more credit than he deserves simply because they're one of the few devs that actually plays the game.

Unfortunately for us, playing the game does not always correlate to understanding the game at a high level.  At best, he plays at a mediocre casual level.  I base that opinion upon experience grouping and raiding with him multiple times.

He's just like all the other devs who refuse to look two inches beyond "the code" and don't take time to understand the actual in-game impact of all the *rad* changes.  How can they make good, intelligent balance decisions about something when their entire team has no practical understanding of the real-world effects of the changes they make?

At this point I'm really not sure why anyone with even an average IQ would expect the devs to not royally screw things up every time they "balance" it.

Literally a one to two task bar level.

Turbine policy - glitches and poor coding resulting in interference of your game play or enjoyment will be ignored.  Glitches or poor coding on the developers side that at all benefit your game play or enjoyment will result in your character being banned and/or items from your inventory deleted.  Please report all bugs via our bug report...when it works.

Oh no, I get that. I'm just saying. I've seen Lyn play THF characters, I doubt they are retarded enough to think this change is good for the sake of being an AoE dps.

It reads more like a Steelstar pet project and Lyn is taking the blame for it.

That being said; I'm going with my earlier assumption that this change is more likely based on the devs thinking that THF calculations are causing server lag like they pulled the same stuff back in the day with TWF.

Lynn is SSG's and DDO's biggest fanboi.  To Lynn, if Steelstar said it, that's the equivalent of God telling Moses it's one of the ten commandments.

I want dupe back pls.

Sharing is caring.

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,

People who don't know how to fix their own mistakes cleanly

Looks like Steelstar let it slip that the current THF has a cap of 25 targets and even more or less phrased that they won't change cleaves to strikethrough as it would be an AOE target nerf.

So they're aware they are intentionally nerfing THF's AoE lmfao. Classic turdbine.

Can we even reach 25 targets if we're completely surrounded by kobolds and hit a Whirlwind Attack?

I don't think that any melee AOE can cover 25 targets of area.  Which is probably why they have Cleave-like attacks capped at 25 just so the server doesn't throw up if something weird happens.

Gonna be hard to convince me that THF melee will be overpowered. Even with these changes.
