Lam probably next week

KotC revamp:
* favored weapons revamp similar to Warpriest
* ranged weapons fully supported including ranged smite
* Knight's Training feat free
* Knight's Training weapons all treated as favored weapons
* another free feat (not specified)
* greatsword favored weapon for all level 3 paladins
* dwarven axe for dwarves now favored weapon in T3 or T4 of racial tree
* deity feats revamped -- now grants hit/dmg with all favored weapons not just the deity weapon
* lots of number/DC tweaking

Alchemist details not covered, but will be on Lam.

Inquis is overperforming and is getting nerfed.

THF changes, but no details released.

No new filigrees.

Misc stuff:

4k UI scaling not coming anytime soon. It requires rebuilding the UI from the ground up, and that's not a priority.

Slavelords is the last time you'll see Resistance items.  Devs don't want toons to have max saves from one item.

Seems fair, after seeing clerics and favored souls with crossbows, let's give it to pallies too. JFK on a bicycle, do they really fucking jerk off with goddamn corssbows?

This has me a bit concerned, some NPC saves are really way off in certain quests and difficulties. I hope they don't mess this up...who am I kidding, they are so going to mess this up

Yeah well, they're gay and retarded because they should have thought about this before, like way before.

it is because they are bad and lazy at most designs, not just loot. They think that making saves into 18 different combinations is a sign of creativity and "hard choices".

It's just a stupid thing to do, and even stupider to double down on it and try to defend it as some sort of balance. What next, Lyn and Steel? Separate prr and mrr by damage types on items, you stupid shitty fucks....

Eh, only if the free past life passive is any good -- maybe something like +3 USP per PL.  If it's lame like +1 Transmutation passive DC per PL, triple Alchemist can fuck off.

Not holding my breath that the purchasable Alchemist PL feat will be any good.  The active component will probably be something flavorful like conjuring a concoction 5x/rest, where the concoction will have negligent gameplay value like most other active PL feats and dragonmarks.

Good point. Lynn's probably the only one that plays it more than once a week.

You know what makes loot fun? Having the item feel impactful.
That happens when the item does something different from what came before it.
We get "new" items that don't feel new. Why?

They're the same shit we got before with stat inflation.

The last time we got a new an interesting item was like Haunted Halls.

I have a sneaking suspicion that the nerfs will be minor and not enough to satisfy the forum whiners and they will continute to post nerfs threads.

Yep, stat inflation is boring.

Null/Hope from Strahd was cool, changing stats based on which hand it was wielded.  Perfect Pinnacle ring had combat bonuses based on stance, which was neat.  Also, Duality to a much lesser extent.  Dunno why SSG never applied the same tech to elemental forms.  Look at a raid item like The Eclipse Iteself.  Would have been cool to have combustion stats in fire elemental form (savant/druid), magnetism in air savant form, nullification in undead form, etc so it promoted trying different caster builds.  Crafting specific spellpower on raid loot is so 2012 (Twilight, Element of Magic I'm looking at you).

The original Piston Boots were theoretically cool, gaining MP buff after you jumped.  But devs couldn't ever make the tech work, so it turned into a boring passive.

Also, requiring 850 threads to upgrade raid weapons can fuck off too.  I've got more PN/THTH raid weapons than I could ever dream of upgrading.  Reminds me of using tomes before they were persistent through TRs.  You better be sure you're going to play that toon for a while.  At least Strahd/Baba weapons are still relevant and don't require more timesink upgrades.

I agree with this and the rest of the loot statements.

However, my issue is how they implemented it. Hope is amazing for healers; the problem? It's the offhand version of the loot, which means it cannot be turned into a sentient item.

The same could be said of Brilliant Crescent. I think I've probably ran a good 30 KTs over the past year and I've never seen the offhand varient of Brilliant Crescent drop.

They should have made a thread turn in for turning Null into a Hope mainhand for sentience and turning Brilliant Crescent into the other hand.

Speaking of Brilliant Crescent; it's a fucking sickle that can't be used in swashbuckle stance for no reason. Other than I guess they borked the code when they were creating the mainhand and offhand versions.

Well, will need one for sure to get completionist available again.  Pity they are nerfing inquis so I could just take 8 lvls of alchemist and while pew pewing.

Let’s see what the nerf is. Hopefully it’s just dialing back the highest end damage at cap (make the law damage scale less perhaps) and Inq will still be solid without causing the whinefest.

I wish they'd go and make all of the dragonmarks and active PLs into full on SLAs and drop their charge limit. I could actually see the Sorc PL being a fun thing to play around with if I could use it more than 10 times per rest.

Players: Make melee great again!

TurbinSSG: Make pally ranged? OK!

Players: No, we mean like make THW attack fast enough that you can at least maintain a blitz, instead of this slow-ass shit they do now.

TurbinSSG: Ah, make Greatsword a favored weapon for Pally. Got it!

Yep, cooldowns not charges are the way to go.  SSG would have to remove the Dragonmark feat prereq.  Spending a feat to then spend AP on mediocre abilities is too much investment.

I'd keep the feat personally. Just make the feat grant something like 50SP and make the entire dragonmark line use SP on the SLAs. Boom, you've mildly kept the arbitrary use per rest but made them universally more useful and less limited as anyone can slot wizardry items.

Yeah, cool downs not charges is definitely the way to go, and for pretty much everything. Or maybe charges that regenerate over time. For a while they were headed in that direction, but it seems like they reversed course and are pushing charges per rest again. Too bad, DDO already has too many performance traps.

Turdbin, keep changing the DDO rules, because McDonalds sold over 200 billion hamburgers by changing the recipe for their Special Sauce every couple of months to keep interest up.
