I've definitely toed the line as well and expected at least a warning. But at the same time, if they warned everyone who's posting wasn't the perfect format SSG wants, they'd just compound their problem.

It'll be interesting to see what the next preview brings. If the changes are small and inconsequential, what we just saw will pale in comparison to what may come.

Is that next week, or the week after?

My guess would be next week since there was some talk of some possible bow damage buffs during the in-game Lama Q&A and they said next week. But to my knowledge, nothing has been announced in the forums and I don't watch the livestreams.

It is going to be my case but i will get it with the points i have, as always.

Dear players,

The D&D rules you were familiar with were too simple to understand, so we're continuing our move away from them to needlessly confusing subsystems that will make your play experience less fun and invalidate old builds and loot. We hope you have fun working out what the fuck MRR, PRR, MP, SP, RP, CL, MCL and all the other bullshit we made up whilst drunk means.

Love,

People who don't know how to fix their own mistakes cleanly

I doubt it's next week.  Too much time to fix the things that were known issues with Alchemist, plus add half baked bow stuff they've been kicking around, plus adjust archer's focus, plus add more THF tweaking, plus whatever KotC tweaks they're going to make.  When you account for design, review, implementation and testing they'd be hard pressed to get it all done by the end of next week or following Monday.  That assumes the QA build process doesnt kick it back for borked code submissions.

TLDR: I'm betting first week in Feb for U45, or the week after at the absolute latest.

Sounds about right.   Another lama run Jan 27-29 and then live the following week or the week after would be a reasonable expectation.    The anniversary event should follow that pretty closely.

It sounds like the proposed THF changes involve a pretty significant nerf to single target damage.

Gygax is dead, so how are they doing it without voiceovers changes or are they saying FUCK D&D AND FUCK GARY WE DON"T CARE IF HE INVENTED IT and we get some stupid dev's favorite kid to do the voicing.

They really don't care about D&D and traditions.

This is hardly fair play. This time SSG does not have any fault, It's not their fault Gygax is dead and I'm sure he would have been thrilled to voice as DM.

What the hell were they supposed to do?

The only voice acting they should had not used was Will fucking Wheaton, can't stand him.

https://www.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/511337-U45-Preview-1-Balance-Changes-M...

THF now has 3x attribute modifier to damage.

All trance effects now count as a source of Insightful damage, and therefore no longer stack with Insightful Deadly items.

Also, Divine Will/Might/Presence are now uniform in terms of bonuses: Insightful Attack, Insightful Damage and +DCs.  Therefore Insightful Accuracy items are redundant when using Divine Will/Might/Presense.

Get your DCs high enough and Touch of Death followed by QP could also be interesting.

I am saying instead of new content, they mess with legacy content.  Was Delera's really that game breaking?

have you seen the end loot of Delera's?  the current named items are a joke and other than the dice not a single item is equippable when compared to same level trash loot.  So they are being made "better".  Oh and the missions being changed so they have epic versions, which means more content to run in epic.  I expect it's a lot less work to re-work an existing mission into an epic mission than create from scratch.

On DDOCast interview they mentioned it was about the same from the coding persepctive.  Just don't have to write a story.

I'm a bit confused. Other than this isn't the idea of Strikethrough over the old glancing blows still an AoE nerf? Three targets max with strikethrough v. no-cap glancing?

Assuming the 3x stat multiplier works properly and they can get this to work with the various bear form attacks, and don't forget to give bears the 3x stat multiplier I'm looking forward to trying and build an actual DPS bear.
