What a big baby!

Do not try the patience of wizards, for they are subtle and quick to anger.

We are dreamers, shapers, singers, and makers. We study the mysteries of laser and circuit, crystal and scanner, holographic demons and invocation of equations. These are the tools we employ, and we know many things.

The absence of evidence is not evidence of absence.

When the cap goes up, and stats go up with it, the crit profile of ESoS is going to push it above the current 29 weapons, just like in the past how constant stat growth continuously pushed them beyond all other 20-28 weapons. It's the same exact issue as Ratcatcher and Nightforge Spike.

When the cap is 40 with level 39 raid weapons, and stats are inflated to match, SoS and ESoS will be best in slot from 10-38. You know it. I know it. The Devs know it. Might as well rip the band-aid off now while the new bonuses to THF compensate.

god what a dumbass

They aren't fans, they are just people almost as insufferable as he is.

You know you're just as dumb and self-absorbed when the best way to handle Tilotard is to ignore him completely, but you can't keep your trap shut.

ESOS isn't that far behind now. Tronko ran the math on his pally and found that it's like right behind the better weapons ( in terms of raw damage and all buff and debuffs being equal ). IDK exactly when ESOS will be best in slot. That depends on how stats increase and which ones. The devs have a good system of splitting the damage across a few different ways, such as : melee power, loaded raid weapon dice ( smaller bonuses like enchantment bonus increases based on weapon ML ), and stat modifiers ( and AP bonuses, etc ).

For ESOS to beat out all other options, it would have to have base damage and MP increased, while loaded weapon dice stopped progressing along with the weapon. Enchantment and mythic/reaper bonuses are also weighed against ESOS. Sword of Shadows does not benefit from any of the various debuffs and buffs that come on many weapons, or will come on new weapons.

In Tilo's hypothetical future, that hasn't even happened yet, we would need all of these things to occur and then, eventually, maybe we might need to nerf ESOS. As for now, Tail beats most things in raw damage if all debuffs and buffs were equal.

In late 2015 and 2016 the ESoS was BiS. Riftmaker may have been slightly ahead (if Paladin, ESoS won outright). ESoS beat the Riftmaker if your base damage/melee power was high enough (Barbarian). The Epic Claw set was also BiS. Even the Frenzied Berserker ToD set was a very close second to the Battle Ragers Harness with the Epic Abbot Quiver equipped (late 2015). It was a weird time.

As you said, its not a problem currently. Tilo is just salty his precious crossbows were nerfed.

As someone who has been playing for almost a month, for how long as it been common for you guys to experience MASSIVE lag spikes that render the game unplayable for a bit or just totally shit on your instance several times a day?

Granted I've dialed my play back a bit to conserve my energy for Feywild, I usually don't see much in the massive lag spikes anymore. And when I do it's at the expected points in certain raids such as Baba.

I haven't played in about two years, but they were a thing for the entire time I played, since just after Update 4.  Played solo probably 85-90% of the time, happened alone and in groups.

At least twice a week i get kicked out of a instance, usualy inside a quest but almost always im still inside of it upon relog.
As for lag every day i get a 2-6 min bad spike. usualy reloging fixes that.

Other than that is the usual lag but ive become used to it so i can calculate where ill be standing after a burp ands play accordingly. Not that is a good thing tough.

There were 3 instances of the marketplace on Khyber yesterday.  I can't remember the last time there were that many on a live server.  (Hardcore season 1 had that many).

It's not all concurrency, but the lag is definitely worse over the last 30 days.

U 45, so strikethrough + alchemist.

This kind of show stopping lag was only in raids ( DoJ, which is STILL fucked, Shadowdragon which I haven't done since forever and Fire Peaks was fucked before they changed the fireballs mechanics ) and Thunderholme wilderness.

I don't see how they don't realize how serious it is.

They know.  The reality is they can't fix it.  They've overlaid so many patches, fixes, new systems, etc that its gone way beyond their ability to fix.

Haven't lagged in those for ages.

We oldtimers have gotten accustomed to not having to deal with multiple instances of public areas. But with recent population increases you will now be seeing Marketplace-2, Eveningstar-2, etc at peak hours. Then they collapse back into 1 instance once it's less crowded. Whenever one of those instances is "destroyed" it will look like a massive lag spike if you are in it. If you can, click the dropdown box on the minimap and switch to the other instance. If you can't, just alt+f4 and relog.
