Hello DDOVault,

I would like to announce a new collaboration between DDOPlayer98 and myself, we have started developement on a DDO Private Server and are curious about what kind of server everyone would like to see and your opinion on the subject!

This is still in early developement on the server emulator. I know it is quite late for a private server to be developed for the game but as the dying game is a rising concern for the community, i think now would be the best time to start work on it. We also would like this to be a eye opener for SSG to hopefully change their marketing strategy as a lot of other games have done in the recent years. I think everyone has observed the greedy behavior of SSG in the recent years with their expansions after expansions and more and more expensive, with lower and lower quality. That is without talking about their pay to win items.

We will still be operating the DDO Dupe Store for those wishing to remain on the Official Server(s), however for those interested in a private server, let us know what you think of the idea and some features you would like to see!

I absolutely approve of this.

What are our options here?  Just selecting between "as it is," "hardcore server" or "pre MoTU" or are we talking about real balance options here made to make the game enjoyable and not purposefully slanted to sell classes and races?  Because an AC system that actually makes sense would be nice and would go a long ways to balance the game.

And if you're really going to tweak things, it's often crossed my mind that a vault based player's council would be more productive than what they have on the mobos (especially since they've long since stopped pretending they give a rat's ass what the PC has to say).

The goal is to make a actual F2P DDO, yes it has it's downside, such as restarting, but i think playing a F2P DDO with option to pay is better then playing a P2W DDO with no option to pay if you want to keep up with the game.

That is a good question, yes the goal would be to have everything f2p. Expensions, Classes, Races, ect. Where the income would come is really cosmetics as i have mentionned and probably custom mounts. Although this is not done yet, i am more or a network engineer and i am not the best at artwork but this is really the route i want to take in developing this server.
