How many examples of almost across the board negative feedback over changes that have been ignored in the past do you want? Have you seriously forgotten who we're dealing with here?

If the devs want to do something, then they are going to do it regardless of the player-bases opinion on the matter. The best we can do is prepare, hunker down and ride out the shit storm to calmer waters.
The mass protests don't work because they all happen after the fact. By the time something this shitty is formally announced, the devs have already done the work and will refuse to change it out of principle and because of sunk-cost falacy.
The reason this is different is because there hasn't be a serious amount of effort/man hours/coding time put into it yet.
Quote:If most players did not buy pre-order and held off buying feywild for a while would be an epic middle finger to ssg.
By the time the xpac goes on sale is already way too late. The work is already done by then. The position is set in stone, and no amount of wallet-based voting will change it(jerry would rather let the game die than admit he was wrong.
The idea is: if we raise a huge shitstorm NOW, the devs can quietly slink away, retool the system, fix it at the design stage, and then come up with something that's not hot garbage, all without having to admit they were wrong and publicly redact a decision.
It all comes down to that key difference: got to protest BEFORE they've become invested in a bad idea, then not call them on it when they backpedal.
