Anyone else using DDO-ML? Did it suddenly break?

I started using it again for launching multiple accounts quickly. After my epic crash on sunday(which was on an entirely different PC) DDO-ML has suddenly stopped working entirely. Gives me "AutoIt Error Line 9010 Error The requested action with this object has failed"

Anyone got any suggestions?

I mean, aside from the usual "go kill yourself". I know that's the first troubleshooting step for any problem presented to the Vault.

This happens everytime when one or more servers are down. It doesn't matter if you want to log into an working server.

Somewhere in the code is a server iteration which assumes all servers are online, no intelligent error handling, lazy coding.

So you have to use the original launcher until all servers are running.

Yeah, there was a planned, 12-hour outage for G-land and Sarlona today for up(...ok, down)grades.

...ok, make that a 14 hour downtime since Fat Jerry just announced a 2 hour extension.

Wonder what they fucked up this time?

Ah. Well that explains it. I thought it was weird that I could still use the normal launcher.

I never liked DDO-ML a lot... in the first interrations it was storing the login/password/characters in plain text in a file.
It was doing the job it was meant to do as an second alternate launcher when it was designed.

This is just something I accept for the speed and convenience of almost never having to manually log in. If someone has access to my PC I have bigger problems than them looking for DDO passwords.

Besides, the encryption option that was added is barely an improvement. The encrypted password is stored in a file and the encryption key is in another file.

I sometimes toy with the idea of writing my own launcher with all user data encrypted at rest, requiring a password (encryption key) upon running the launcher. Again though, security at the cost of convenience and I always come to the same conclusion: I'm not that bothered.

^This.

I seriously never got what the complaint was. Its a friggin DDO password, not a bank routing number. I actually had to quit using ML when they first implemented the encryption thing because I could NEVER get it to work and for a time it was mandatory. Making it optional made it usable again.

DDO ML is open source, you can actually download the source code from the GIT repository if you feel like being clever.

What I use and believe is the most convenient launcher of them all.

New for me, tried it, but it will simply not run.
Checked all usual things (antivirus/admin rights/.Net version) but the exe simply terminates. No error log to be found and even procmon shows nothing special.

Any clues if this prog needs something special?

Have you tried turning it off and back on again?  Cheesy
