No idea, heard it second hand from a mate. Having pressed him about it now, it's only old stuff we already know (Mail/Downtime). Sorry for the false excitement.

That said, it was nice of SSG to give me free boxes on Wayfinder to experiment with now I know mail duping apparently still works.

There were different variations on this working for different item types at different times. This is one *old* method, not something new - I don't have a step by step for whatever is being shared. I'm going to be playing with variations on it now I've got a free box to fuck around with because in this game either the actual method can crop back up or usually you can substitute steps for different game actions that have the same effect/result.

Prep:
* mailbox and new mail dialog open
* either a way to hamper your connection through software or disconnect/connect cycles
* item you want to dupe in inv, inv open

1) Severely slow/terminate your connection to the servers
2) Drag item to mail
3) Send
4) Cause an interrupt action - not sure what works here these days - augments? they still seem to fuck with timings and cause good delays but may close all other UI windows unless you find another UI action to interrupt that. item binding dialog?
5) Reconnect/improve connection
6) Be a little patient - don't act immediately
7) Move the item somewhere else / use the item - basically any other command that isn't send in the mail
8) Check if you now have two items in different places

The easiest one iirc was when you could literally split the item to bank/mail but they've made the two windows mutually exclusive now. There may be some other UI action while dc'd that will let you get them both open but i've not tried yet. When i do play around i'll be thinking about ways to replicate but change each of these steps and in-game UIs that cause delays, allow multiple paths for an item to move, UI dialogs that supercede other UI dialogs, etc. Steps may need moving around too, e.g. 7 before 5.

I used to have good success with splitting items across mail and trade using a second account on the guild ship but no idea if they've closed that hole. Another fruitful avenue may be filigrees as they seem to turn the game to treacle pretty reliably.

Basically you're trying to confuse the game into not performing various checks when it carries out two actions on the same item/stack. They appeared to close most holes over the past 10 years or so but then sometimes they creep back in. Best of luck. If my playing on Wayfinder works out I'll write it up.
