Yeah I'm not a fan of that decision. The rationale was about locking the belt slot--here's an idea: turn the belt into an augment. Have it take 5 of em if necessary. But, to just nerf it was a weak solution.

The Ravenloft belt is a bad item. It's best in slot for all the casters of the relevant elements. Doesn't matter what you have on any other belt, you wear the Ravenloft belt because the spell power is that important. 

Sure you could change a bunch of other items to have Enhancement spellpower or add an augment of Enhancement spellpower - but that then means you have the general increase of spell power that they are trying to roll back and just perpetuates the problem. Introducing new items takes a while for them to filter out into peoples hands and perpetuates the problem until people have the item and then perpetuates the problem of too much spellpower. 

Changing Enhancement to Equipment still means that the belts are fine. 
fire spellpower and crit, acid spellpower and crit and a slot (and the other elemental variants).  That's still a solid item and can replace 2 1-handed items. 

Personally I think removing Enhancement spell power is a good change.

Go back 10 years.  ESoS was the be all and do all of weapons - today it's still a pretty good choice and reasonably competitive. But back then nothing else came close - a raid tank with that was the DPS king and it made everything else obsolete.  Balancing around having ESoS in a raid and not have ESoS in a raid was I imagine a real pain.  That was an example of bad itemization and it took years to fix.  But, even now a lvl 20 ESoS is still a reasonable weapon to be using.

Of course if you are playing a DC caster then it's not, but I would assume the context of my comment made it obvious that I was talking about damage caster

Does anyone have a gear set up for an Elec sorc, the sharn sets tend to favour cold and fire.

I was considering the Magewright and Chained Elements sets

While wearing two pieces from the Masterful Magewright set, you gain:

+3 Artifact bonus to all Spell DCs (note items display +4 for this bonus, but only +3 is actually granted)
+4 Artifact bonus to Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma
+5 Artifact bonus to Perform and Concentration

While wearing two pieces from the Chained Elemental set, you gain:

+10% Artifact bonus to Fire, Cold, Acid, and Electric Spell Critical Chance
+50 Artifact bonus to Fire, Cold, Acid, and Electric Spell Power

but i was more interested in the which Sharn sets for the ARTIFACT bonuses.
I guess ill use Legendary Hruit's Influence and slot in Artifact augment set Charisma and sort out the 35% asf with 2 x fillis and asf augment

Can also get good ASF from EK tree. I usually put points in there for the Imp mage armor and imp shield anyway.
