Shit, I didn't really think of that. You're right, collectibles were indeed useless back then except for a select few so it would make sense that no one duped them. That sucks because the collectible grind is where I am stuck. I did find a pretty good post on where each collectible has the best chance to drop so I guess I will start there.
My crafter is lvl 350 already because he was max level before I left which was before the revamp and I had 1000s of essences stored up because I have always enjoyed crafting so I just converted them and used them to get to 350.
Now I just need the collectibles to actually craft the items I want for each character. Maybe I will just take this as a sign to stay on the straight and narrow path of holiness and not cheat. haha
My will is not strong though so if anyone wants to sell, I'm still interested.
At 350 you should be able to craft everything.
About 1000 DDO points(less if you wait for a sale) spent on collectibles crates will give you a good chunk of the way there. Also obvi get in the habbit of kitting every node as you play.
I like a wizard as a dedicated collectibles farmer but mostly because the ghostly glide of an undead shroud is the coolest one to watch for hours on end. Also DDoor and Knock.
Possibly the one really useful page of the DDO Wiki:
https://ddowiki.com/page/Collectable_farmingTells you exactly where to find every collectible in the easiest spot. And yes the diffs matter. Three I have the biggest problems with:
*Ornate Charm - Desecrated Temple of Vol Epic Casual. Still a PITA to farm but you can basically run right to the collectible, DDoor out. You'll get a shitload of Brass Censures.
*Crypt Moth - Breaking the Ranks Epic Casual you do not have to fight a single mob, just go in, hit the node, out, reset, repeat. Fairly high drop rate but you need a ton of moths.
*Runic Parchment - Mad Tea Party Heric Normal, also fun because you can hit 2 nodes without starting a single fight. The drop rate is low but its easy.
Again collectibles are a pain in the ass but not a big enough one that anyone bothers to dupe.
